    This is a new twist....
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic — Dominican Republic officials say they have arrested a woman who was carrying more than $70,000 in her stomach and $69,000 hidden inside her suitcase.
The spokesman for the National Drug Control Agency says the money in the woman’s stomach was divided up among 16 capsules and the cash is likely tied to drug trafficking.
Spokesman Dario Medrano said Friday that the 40-year-old woman was arrested at the airport in the popular tourist district of Punta Cana after arriving on a flight from Brussels. Her name has not been released.
Dominican authorities say this is the first time they have arrested someone who was smuggling money in their stomach.

How on earth do you swallow money?

I've heard stories of prisoners from the joy turning up in the Mater A&E having swallowed all manner of stuff. The best I heard was a guy who linked his bed springs together and swallows them.
But that is a lot of money all the same!

If you mean the "possible drone over the North Sea" thread....it was moved to Military as seemed might get a better response over there.

We had a discussion about the A321 NEO with additional fuel tanks, the topic is closed, but you might find this article about the ACT interesting.

    http://www.airbus.com/support/publications/?eID=dam_frontend_push&docID=17453

Its from 2004, so has absolutely nothing to do with the NEO-LR :)

A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-ENK performing flight FR-3595 from Pisa (Italy) to Luebeck (Germany), was enroute at FL360 southeast of Zurich (Switzerland) in contact with Switzerland's area control center M4. The crew requested to climb to FL380 however without mentioning their call sign "Ryanair 3595".

A TAP Air Portugal Airbus A319-100, registration CS-TTD performing flight TP-706 from Lisbon (Portugal) to Prague (Czech Republic), was enroute at FL370 southeast of Zurich in contact with area control center M4, both aircraft were on converging tracks but sufficiently separated vertically.

Another Ryanair flight, callsign Ryanair 6DW, reported on M4 frequency at FL360 and was instructed to climb to FL380. The crew of FR-3595 acknowledged the instruction with callsign "Ryanair 3595", which was not picked up by the controller. The crew of flight RYR6DW did not react/read back and did not climb.

A short time later the short term conflict alert activated on M4 radar identifying FR-3595 and TP-706 to be in conflict. The controller queried whether FR-3595 was still at FL360 and after the crew replied in the negative instructed FR-3595 to immediately descend to FL360 again. In the meantime TCAS resolution advisories were generated in both cockpits, both crews complied with the resolution advisories which resolved the conflict.

Both aircraft continued to destinations for safe landings.

Switzerland's SUST released their final report reporting the separation between the aircraft reduced to 0.8nm laterally and 650 feet vertically involving a high risk of collision
Wonder how this is going to play out in the DM tomorrow....

Leeds equivalent of InDublin has a half page advertorial extolling the virtues of EI, placed by the airport. LBA must be looking up the road a bit as using them as justification for scheduled TATL to start

Something interesting looking went into Baldonnel on Friday 7th at about 17.30, well light up as it went in. Could be just a CASA, but does anyone know what it was? Can't find anything on FR24.

Just thought to pop this in here..... quote from the Weather forum and the daily forecast from M.T. Cranium. (Great source for on the ball daily weather forecasts)

Seems that the weather models are trending towards a sharp drop in temperatures after the 25th. Cold weather over the north Atlantic and a predicted drop in the west-east jetstream will open us up to Arctic weather.

Lets see how this affects aviation between Xmas and New Year.
    Thursday, 18 December, 2014
    Forecasts for Ireland

No consensus yet on the potential for wintry weather in the days after Christmas, although some of the guidance continues to show potential for snow and freezing temperatures. The weather on Christmas Day itself looks relatively settled and chilly although not quite as cold as what might follow.

..................WEDNESDAY (24th) will become colder with strong westerly winds at times, passing showers becoming mixed on northern hills, highs about 6 to 8 C.

CHRISTMAS DAY looks like a rather settled, cold day with morning temperatures close to freezing and daytime highs of 5 to 7 C. There may be more cloud than sunshine but not very much if any precipitation. Any that does develop could be mixed showers over northern counties at least.

From 26th to 28th there is too much of a range in the available guidance to say much more than this -- be alert for the possibility of wintry weather and even rather severe snow and cold in this period, but we cannot yet rule out a variety of weather including brief snowfalls changing to rain and back to snow, or just a dry cold with local snow flurries near Atlantic coasts. There is one model showing a heavy snowfall event on the 27th. It now appears that the most active weather would be 27th-28th more so than St Stephen's Day, but these trends are not too reliable yet.

I hope we can be more definite by the weekend on this important weather period, but still waiting for a better consensus to develop. I continue to think that a significant wintry outbreak is inevitable within the next two weeks given the large-scale pattern changes underway.......
