Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone know when are they going to erect this monument and any info released on what it may look like? Looking forward to seeing it.

    This is what they wanted.

Where do you draw the line with this Irish descendant stuff? Che was the great great great great grandson of an Irishman.

I always thought that this was the civic equivalent of donning a Che Guevara T-Shirt. If that's the proposed monument, all the more so.

Given that there's 20,000 students in Galway its kind of appropriate, so can we cover the statue up every Friday morning and unveil it again every Monday morning?

Seriously, I think the Guevara links to Galway are tenuous and as for him being an influential or important historical figure - only in the way Marilyn Monroe or James Dean are influential actors.

It all about the pre-mature death and the iconic image.

If we want a statue of an adventurer why not Garabaldi?
