Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

an oasis fan that doesn't like beer

    what next?

being serious for a second, they always have an alternative for the ladies. wine is usually the choice.

My dad works for Heineken and has done Slane for the last 10 years.

Apparently this year it's Heineken, Coors, Murphys and Red/White wine

Sorry if this has already been asked, but had a bit of a look and couldn't find anything else!

Has Oasis at Slane sold out? Or is the ticketmaster website just being annoying today??

Thanks a million to anyone who can tell me!

And sorry everyone if this Q has been asked a million times! :D

    Actually found toutless.com! Nevermind! :D

How does toutless work? Just by meeting up with the person is it?

Does anybody know what the story with campsites in slane...I know there is none inside the actual grounds but just wondering if there are any sites nearby...Have no accomodation sorted

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 192 ✭✭halfinch

What time would you be wanting to get to the grounds at? Is it really a 7km hike to the stage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,057 ✭✭✭JJ

    I wouldn't say it's 7k but it's a fairly long walk, maybe more like 2k.

If you need accomodation, you could get a place in Dublin then get the shuttle bus that goes to Slane on the day.

When i went to chilli peppers in 03. We parked in a locally operated car park (a field) and paid a lad at the gate.
That was six years ago though
Im goin down this year in a campervan though:D

  • Registered Users Posts: 244 ✭✭Jayo11780

Thinking of getting a campervan too... where is the nearest campsite to park it up though???

  • Registered Users Posts: 76 ✭✭gombeen99

Does anyone know if / when Ticketmaster is posting tickets out? I bought tickets months ago but haven't received them yet. Roll on Slane!

  • Registered Users Posts: 117 ✭✭simons104

    No.

Its nearly always possible to bring in spirits mixed in a soft drinks bottle though, the lid will be taken off you however you can always have a spare one down your pants.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 592 ✭✭✭BubbleWrap85

No you can't bring your own beer.

Check your ticketmaster account email inbox to see if you selected print off yourself instead of post - that happened me before. Realistically you should have gotten them by now. Check your ticketmaster a/c and if they're not there give them a call straight away.

On another note, will there be a shuttle bus going from Drogheda?

    Hey.
Im going to be camping at slane this year. I would love to bring up my guitar so I can bash out a few chords after the gig with a few cans. But theres no chance in hell Im leaving it in my tent.
Does anybody know if there are lockers/storage spaces at slane?

No but i'm sure it's not very quiet all the same...

And to answer what you meant:

There are no official camp sites for slane.

Anyone know of a bus going to Slane from Blanchardstown ???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,588 ✭✭✭Bluetonic

    Stage times etc..,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,057 ✭✭✭JJ

With regards to buses, I think it's safe to say that the only official buses on the day to Slane are from the city centre so you'll have to get your sorry ass to Parnell Square if you want to take the bus.

Anyone know anything about buses going from Drogheeeeeda?

Bus Eireann (from the local depot) will be running buses, they always have done. Try ringing them on 041 9835023

At 8 miles a taxi is what you should be looking at.

when i was at chillis in 03 i drove up in my car on the Friday.
We parked in a unofficial local car park ( a field ). We all camped beside our cars apart from one of our friends who brought a van. He put a mattress in the back of that, and slept there.

There was one campervan in the field where we were parked and there didn seem to be any problems. They, along with us stayed till Sunday.
    Thats our plan this time.

that sounds good.. i emailed the slane farm the hostel in slane asked them if you could park the campervan there since they have tents.. waiting for them to reply, it be bit more secure its just my dad lending me the camper so want make sure no danger comes to it.. goin to head up the fri to check out the area.. whats the slane town like to go out in

I printed them off at the time and just have them on A4 paper. Never did it taht way before but couldn't wait to get my hands on them at the time. I presume there's no difficulty doing it like that as Ticketmaster offered that option but has anyone actually gone to a gig with the printed off tickets before and had a problem?

Just rang that slane farm hostel and their charging 25euro per person to camp there, but you have to arrive on the friday because the road to it will be closed off on saturday... Cant wait now gonna be some craic!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4 lou-lou

f... is that per person per night.

not paying 200e for 4 people for 2 nights to park a camper van...

  • Registered Users Posts: 7 memuscles

Do the Dublin buses get closer into Slane than the coaches?
And what is it like getting out of Slane on the Dublin Buses?
Been on rented coaches before to Slane and the hike out of Slane to your coach can be very long depending how far out the road to Dublin your coach is parked.

Does anyone know of any buses travelling from Carlow to Slane tried the usual suspects either full or not going! There is a group of 13 of us so even if anyone wants to help make up a 24 seater which would work out at about 25.00 euro each
