Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yvonne and Niamh are best friends
Ah look dont get me started.. I said this months ago when they had the girly night.. Niamh, Yvonne, Carol and Jo... ridiculous... And Yvonne is the most inconsistently written character I've ever seen in a soap.. If she was a real life character she would be on medication for Schizophrenia..0 -

I can see the need to shake things up a bit every so often and have characters that don't usually interact with each other do so, this is healthy and helps with new story lines and plots ect...where Fair City sometimes falls down in this regard is the way they go about it. All these new friendships should be introduced in the 'pub' setting of McCoys and The Station, as that's realistic....but to have characters suddenly out of the blue having a knees up house party as bosum buddies can be unrealistic...have the house party after the pub interaction....
But change is good, and introduces a new dynamic! If Sash and Neasa want to invite me to their house party I'll be more than willing! Will even buy a cheap bottle of wine in Christies Spar on the way over!!

I'd love to see those. There is half of the 1996 Christmas episode on youtube and it's great.* It was when Helen was pregnant with Rachel but was claiming it was Mike's her new fiance from London who no-one had yet met. I loved the Helen, Paul, Nicola love triangle (later square with Mike). Lorraine's unrequited love for Jimmy was another favourite story of mine.
*It's also got special Christmas continuity announcer Marty Whelan at the start.:)

God I miss Hannah and Eunice.
I agree, they were fantastic characters. Unfortunately, both actressess are now deceased

Joan O'Hara who played Eunice was Sebastian Barry's mother. (Sebastian Barry is an Irish playwright, novelist, and poet. He has twice been shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize for his novels A Long Long Way (2005) and The Secret Scripture (2008), the latter of which won the 2008 Costa Book of the Year and the James Tait Black Memorial Prize.
