Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Since November or earlier. Just used a spit from one of my 50-for-32 stacking trips to get fuel at an esso that was 7c cheaper than tesco to begin with. The clubcard points aren't worth that much!

Since some time in September- and it was on for 3 weeks in July- before being discontinued. The current ruin is supposed to end on Christmas Eve (though they're not advertising this).

I hadnt realised they advertised it at all, hadnt heard of it, but thankfully the signs were on the pumps in an esso I went to today, even though it was on the list in the link posted, I was sure Id be explaining it at the till.
Very little saving in it, but if you're passing, why not.
More to be saved on food using vouchers or on spending a specific amount.

Got one in Woodies yesterday- 50% off, and an additional 20% because of some weird text message on my phone. Its a 20 litre Prestige stock pot- and like yours- isn't going to fit in any cupboard in the house. Price 19.80 after the various discounts. Was going to go for Tesco one- but the quality of the Prestige tipped me in the other direction.
What are dimensions of the one you got at Woodies? I saw the ones at Heatons but don't like that it's aluminium. Maybe the Woodie's one is aluminium too.

57cm tall (its quite ridiculously tall)
    20cm diameter
    Capacity 18 litres
Stainless steel exterior (no idea about the interior- it doesn't say)
Nice glass lid and bakelite handles.
Apparently its ovenproof up to 180c- though good luck finding an oven it'll fit in......

    Make = Prestige

Yum! I've a few boxes in the freezer- they're really really good.
Only point to note- the baking time on them is a tad underestimated-as you'll gather when you're baking them........
    Well worth getting.

Not going to happen this year apparently. No huge overstocks on non food is what he said. Got this from a manager friend in there.

I think the new boss has got the company buyers under control .

I am not sure but I think the Tesco staff deal with the games end. A merchandiser from another company deals with the games and music. In the same way the Brennans bread is brought in and packed by the bread delivery man. Could be 100% wrong though.

The barcodes are gone from the back of the pieces of paper for the tellies, so finding bargain tvs will be hard I'd say.

I work in a Tesco... nothing's gone 1c in mine at all. Reductions on Christmas crackers/sweets/cakes/decorations/christmas cards.
There's still hope though, I remember bags of halloween sweets going down to about .26c after a few weeks.

Didn't keep the receipt....didn't see the point. If it broke, I was only down 1c.

This was last Christmas btw, and I've posted about it previously if you want to search. I was also the person that got clarification from Tesco Customer Care (and posted it on Boards) that if something scans at 1c, the store is supposed to sell it at that price. Some stores were refusing to sell at the time.
As part of my bargain hunting, I also got two bluray players for 1c each, a couple of iPad covers for 1c, a tilt-and-swivel wall mount for up to 46" tvs for €3, and another Samsung telly for €40.

Believe me if you want...doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm around too long to be winding people up.

Sorry for going OT people. Back on topic now.

Relative of mine says that stuff is reduced to 1c sometimes as some sort of stock management process. They're not supposed to go on sale but alas a few of the less conscientious staff stick them out on the shelves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 261 ✭✭caycro

Got a turkey crown reduced from €20 to €5, they also had organic full turkeys from 80 to 20. Had Xmas dinner out this year so this solved the 'no leftovers' problem :-)

hey i work in tesco on home ent, just to let you know the games clerance during the year was a build up of 5 years of stock unsold as we dont have a returns process for games so afraid the wont be another games clerance for quite a while but there is a large buld up of cd/dvds in some shops so maybe they will look into that this year :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 667 ✭✭✭spongbob

Not all was 5 years old, in fact some 2013 3ds titles were in the mix! and then some crap load of standard ds games where left at 15€ / 20€ / 30€ It made no sense at all.

The person you quoted states it was a build up of 5 years stock and I do believe 2013 was within the 5 years

it was from 5 years ago up until last years stock mate and pricing was just marked on games over all ranging from 3€ up. so until they build up a backlog of games again their will be no more sales mate they have a new system in place where games that are falling or are out of the chart are reduced in stages starting with €34.99
