I thought that second shot got Velcoro in the rocks, not the stomach, same as what happened to Casper.

    Maybe I'm wrong though.

Nah it was his lower stomach

Watched the episode back...loads of trivial questions...Did Frank state how many days his father left him locked down in the basement whilst he went off on the bender??At times it is very hard to understand what's been said.

Never heard of the word burgalarize before that cop made it up!:pac:

Did the pathologist mention that the toxicity report found traces of xanax in addition to alcohol and that he had gonorrhoea?

The dude who was assaulted by Frank's henchmen and threatened by Frank was hardly a randomner, ran a book or had some connection to the 5 million Caspere took Frank for?

Presumably Rachel Adams lied re the status of her siblings...2 RIP suicide,2 in jail. Is'nt her sister working in adult pornography?Bit far fetched 3 years of therapy with that quack and a hardly quantifiable gain, money for jam!:pac:

What did Ray say to those kids playing in close proximity to the pipe emitting the effluent?Fire??Presumably he was trying to warn them off from the area.

Presumably the Oedipus mother was hinting at the cop's hidden homosexuality..."All the girls are nice to you,you have'nt figured that out yet".Broad hints at same as he peered from the balcony.

What is it that the Mayor Austin Chessani is drinking? He is very hard to understand, not sure if he's supposed to be an alcoholic or is doing a bad job of mimicing Marlon Brando.

I was convinced Ray was going to get it on with Ani at some stage, although the bar lady was hitting on him big time.He appeared to deny he'd killed his wife's assailant?

I thought it was very decent episode..some great lines

"A good beating promotes personal growth"

"Support feminism mainly by having body image issues"

Did she not say that there was 5 kids in the compound/cult that her father ran? 2 dead, 2 did jail time & 1 a detective?

Just on the kids he Ray speaks Spanish to them vaya basically telling them to and not to play under the toxic crap coming out of the pipe!
Good episode I hope Ray lives also got the feeling Paul's Mum was kind of coming on to him!
Also wasn't the bird mask in the car driving around with the city managers corpse in episode 1.
Good to see Masuka from Dexter back and the mayor was the Russian mobster in The Dark knight!

It may be a red herring but Casper's psychologist had a crow-man on his wall:

Such a boring episode only saved by a cliffhanger ending.

Agreed, it was awful. And the ending wasn't enough to save it.

Phew, I thought it was only me that thought it was one long bore.

She definitely said kids in the compound, rather than specifically her family. Perhaps the other 4 are not her siblings and/or her sister did not grow up in the compound.

Her sister is currently on a career upswing doing online porn / artistic **** - it's safe to assume she's done a stretch.

I'll say one thing -- the makers are getting their money's worth out of that helicopter they're leasing!

Not really enjoying this so far....hard not to compare with the first series which hooked me after the first 10 mins. I've not really seen a lot of Vince Vaughan's stuff so no preconceptions going into this however I thought the opening 'locked in a cellar' speech was unintentionally hilarious...reminded me of stuff like Christopher Walken's soldier with the watch speech from Pulp Fiction, only thing was that was supposed to be funny. Will keep watching and hope it gets better.

Am I the only one who never copped Woodrugh's apparent homosexuality? I need to pay more attention..

He had to take viagra before sleeping with his girlfriend, then when she went down on him he wasn't into it. He doesn't seem to be into her and maybe uses her to try and fool himself. Then last episode he remarked about a guy in the bank coming on to him and how pissed off he was about it. Blatantly trying to hard to cover up his sexuality with aggressive homophobia.
And then there's him looking down at the rent boy on the street and clearly letting us know he's considering something.

I thought it was PTSD related in the first episode.

i think a problem it has is that it has to go up against a brilliant first season. my advice would be to sit back and just watch it and then compare at the end

Not bad but not great either so far. This show needs to up its game big time from here.

The ending of episode 2 was a bit lame - if he survives then it was just a cheap way to force a cliffhanger into a boring episode. I know even the best shows do this, but always hate it when they do. If he dies then they just killed off the best actor/character and it's way too soon to kill off a main character from a small cast, even if it is only an 8-episode season.

It was a warning. Stop investigating now or next time you'll really be dead (if he isn't). There's nothing cheap about it.

It's building nicely. I don't think the critics on here are following along very well..

I can think of safer ways to give a warning than risk being shot dead by going after an armed cop with a shotgun load of rock salt or such nonsense

Ya like a strongly worded letter, that would really get the point across. Farrell's character really doesn't look like the type that would be intimated by any thing less than physical brutality which even then it would probably only make him more determined.

And the guy in the bird mask probably enjoys using the shot gun given the state of caspers croch.

Storywise, there is no way he is dead. It just doesn't make sense to kill him off. Too much setup for there to be no payoff. I bet he's still alive.

i think hes alive as well. if they wanted to kill him, shoot him in the face not stomac

So did I originally but then his face gave it away. That and the blue pill.

lol, I'm sure birdman was really safety concerned. You'd do do well in the criminal underworld /s.

I think jcsoulinger provided a good answer, also by the looks of the bird mask wearing guy and based on the very little we've seen on him or what he's done, he doesn't strike me as the sort of person to be afraid of an armed cop :pac:

must say im really enjoying it. cant wait for the next episode which is a good sign. very chinatown/la confidential in make

    The trailer for episode #3
seems to indicate that Farrell survived the shooting.

Lieutenant says "One of my men gets shot..." as opposed to "One of my men is murdered/killed/etc".
