Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

i bought one two hours ago and it was the correct model and has netflix
    parents love it

    pretty decent for 299 tbh
its a little thicker than i expected but otherwise great

you will need to have a Ethernet cable or buy the wifi dongle for smart tv stuff

Just to clear up my post in the other thread.

The ad is listed as 42HXT42U.

I reserved and went to Stephens Green this morning to collect but only on arriving home did I notice the box said 42HYT42U. From my research online last night I knew this model did not support Netflix.

From answers.argos.co.uk - There are a couple of differences between the 42HXT42U and 42HXT42U models. Technically the differences are that 42HXT42U features the Netflix app and an open web browser and has SRS sound technology. Visually the 42HXT42U model is finished in a gloss black finish and the 42HXT12U model in a matt grey finish

So basically, if you are purchasing make sure you get the HXT model as opposed to the HYT model. As of today neither Blanch nor Stephens Green have the HXT model.

    Hope this helps.

Very deceiving, only HD Ready which for a 48" set is a joke, wouldn't go near it.

Negative comments here. Is it a bad TV.
    What's the difference in 50hz vs 100hz

no its a fine tv for 299

the difference between the hz is the refresh rate of the screen so very fast images will look better on the 100hz then on the 50hz

my parents are very happy with this tv
the netflix button on the remote makes it much easier for them to get onto netflix
over using the media player they had

they have it connected to a upc hd box and it works fine
they watched the munster v lenister match last night with no issues.

i will say that the sound from the speakers could be a little better but cant reall expect everything for 299 can you

Can anyone else shed some more light?

Guys/Gals, for anyone that missed out on this deal yesterday/this morning, the stock around the country is being replineshed. Currently there are over 5 available in Athlone, Castlebar, Monaghan, Wexford. All those shops were out of stock earlier today.

its not stock been replenished its stock from people reserving them and had not picked them up at closing time today so the system updates and puts them back in stock

Maybe or maybe not. There are a number of shops that have more than 5 in stock now. These shops had 1 or 2 on Christmas day, and were out of stock at 11.30pm last night. I have my doubts that there would be that many non-collections. Anyway I hope its good news for some people.

it seems to be the thing now on boards to reserve any bargain asap
if if you don't want to buy it.

hence the whole argos reservations thread

Yep, these TVs are a special promotion pretending stock is limited is an old trick.
I agree, think are new stock.
