Why do you say its a 530? The 535 is a 3.0 as well, just with 2 turbos.

Straight looking W126. Honestly good value for money. €4k for this one.

I've been pondering both of those if I'm honest

That Daimler has been around ages .
I looked at it a a show in dublin in march and to be honest was a little bit disappointed .
It looks better in the pictures , in saying that it was indoors .

The merc looks and is bulletproof !
Owl fella had a 420 se for years,it and a 450 sel I think it were the best of all 8 Mercs he ever had .

I wouldn't be mad about the colour, but I'd take that Merc all the same if I'd the dosh, it'd make a great cheap daily for someone that doesn't do a lot of miles.

If that W126 was black / blue, I'd be down in my credit union tomorrow.

Turns out a chap I met the other night has three 7 series at the moment, a 760i, 740i and a 745i.

The 745i has been up for sale for a month and not a single call, see it here:

I can see why, it's a rubbish ad, but if anyone is looking for a bargain, i'm sure he'll let it go for peanuts.

LI, the leg room is porn.

Ah yes, mixed that up. LPG converted too, €3000 would prob take it.

    Engine reebuild? doesn't sound promising.

Sounds bad, all right. It would be OK if there was just a replacement of seals, etc., but it says "complete engine rebuild". That puts a major question mark on that offer.

    Hmm.... that sounds interesting
If I don't buy that daimler on ebay that I linked to in the "today i saw a car for sale thread" (still waiting to bid until it gets closer to the end) then I may consider this.

The number plate on the Merc, could it have been an ex Government car?

1300 be more like it, and it'd probably still break your heart.

Re the BMW, is it me or does the rear suspension look faulty? Seems a bit low.
    I really don't think it's worth 4.3k though

    1300 for an e65 LWB??
    Are you mad?
Sure even the LPG conversion alone would cost probably more than that!

Still though, the 745i doesn't even have comfort seats (IMO no one should buy a 7'er without this option ticked), and the colour is awful.

Still though, if you got it for somewhere between 2 and 3k, it'd be a decent buy.

I was talking recently to a guy from Belgium, his dad owned a bmw 750, he himself owned an M5, but he crashed it, now he has a volvo v70,
Anyway we got talking about tax and higher engined cars in Belgium are about 11000euro per year to tax, and as far as i remember no discount tax for oldtimers either.
Looks like a lot of people there instead get their companies to buy and tax it and they can write it off.
in effect it stops a lot of ordinary joes from being able to afford a car like this, as they dont own their own company.

but 1800 tax per year to drive a BMW 745 or bigger, doesnt look so bad now.

Think ya made a typo there dude. ;)

That's either the most ridiculous tax ever or you're mistaken. I'm hoping for the Belgians that it's the latter :P

    Are you sure about that?

According to this (I may be wrong) but their highest rate of tax is just shy of 2k.
Granted, the report is 1 year old but I'd seriously doubt the highest level is now 11k.
Tbh looking through their rates they work out still cheaper than us.
If you want to compare Ireland with another country then it should be Italy where I believe the rates are much higher the bigger the engine gets.
