Tbh all I think this shows is that the candidates are concentrating more on meeting people and going around campus than trying to get people to go to their page, a bad idea imo as you should always concentrate on the polling stations in elections.

There seems to be about an hour between the polls closing and the results being announced, so I'd imagine they're using that hour to make sure everything is ship-shape.

Either that or they have a very slow printer :)

The voting site isn't working for me, some error screen comes up. I'm in France at the moment so it's the only way I can vote.

    picture.php?albumid=1538&pictureid=9060

    Help?! :(

Try again, if that doesn't work, send a message to the SU and let them know the site is having difficulties!

A few people have mentioned that while the site appears to have problems working on Chrome, it works fine for them on Firefox. If they're using Chrome, that might be the solution.

Gah, that's annoying. All I can offer in the way of suggestion is the same thing we'd suggest if someone had a similar problem on boards.ie and it wasn't a server issue: clear your browser cache and do a hard cache reset of the page by holding down ctrl and hitting F5 (just holding down F5 will probably just refetch it from a cached server on the way, holding down ctrl and F5 will get a fresh copy of the page from the voting page server). Outside of that it's down to Dan's suggestion to email Roisin.

Just voted using the old iPhone, worked perfectly.

    E-voting is the business! :D

Ps. Wasn't easy to decide, a good bunch of candidates...

I don't know about anyone else here, but I'm so nervous about the results, very hard to call for some offices!!!

Think tonight will be one of the few nights there stables will be in total silence ..... until the names are announced!!

have already forgotten the names of those I voted for. none of them were memorable, well apart from the fella with the giant horse whose name I forget, remember the horse though.

was not canvassed by any of them.

Congrats to the winners, and commiserations to the rest, Especially the two Keiths who lost by a reletivly small margin.

Derek Daily hitting the Quota dead on. I wunder what the odds on that were?

is the welfare officer always the deputy president?
Yes. The reason is historic - when there were only two officers (prior to 1990ish), the officer who wasn't president was obviously deputy president and the second officer happened to be the welfare officer.

    Congrats to the winners!

Is there any way we can see the vote count?

  • Registered Users Posts: 42 Nagoh

Hard luck to the guys who didn't get in, fairly gutted about Barry and Keith but congrats to the winners :)

I won't be here so ultimately it doesn't directly affect me but I'm sure next years SU will be a colourful one. Enjoy the celebration/commiserations tonight; judging by the campaigns you well deserve it.

I wunder will the welfare bear be available for anyone who needs a hug during next year?

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,413 ✭✭✭✭cson

Congrats to Derek [Ninty9er] and all the others elected. I wish them all the best of luck in the forthcoming academic year (although sadly I won't be here to enjoy their terms). All the best & good luck! :)

Hard luck to Enda Gallery. He put in a good campaign and was happy with getting 999 votes. Well done to all those who will be in the student union next year.

Eamonn, that was probably a typo since when he was writing it I was talking to him,
