Reports stating that Israel have launched an attack against Iran
You have to think of it from Trump's worldview. To him, all of the Arab world is an unmitigated disaster run by zealots who hate the west. He has allies with Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E but these are marriages of convenience.
I don't think he believes that there is any improvement possible whoever is in charge. He just doesn't want nuclear weapons under the control of a mullah that he can't control.
I don't think there is any hope of a stable, democratic country emerging anywhere soon in the middle east. In fact, Israel is the only one and it's not exactly flavour of the month on Boards.
Not a hope. Israel's biggest weakness is overreach and financially sustaining what gains they've made with Trump wars of mass distraction.
Israel was already experiencing capital flight of its wealthiest and smartest before this latest round kicked off.
If Trump does taco on Iran I can see a lot of nations in the region gaining great hope and then acting more in unison in keeping Israel in check. Iran has a supply deal with China, and many gulf states have opened up Yuan currency swaps so the USD isn't the only show in town anymore.
Geopolitically this war with Iran may greatly stymie the USAs power projection around the world. Anyone anywhere with a score to settle could attack a US asset and then blame Iran.
They've barely finished burying the thousands of protestors that his dad ordered to be killed if they were lucky enough to find the bodies. So yes, his dad was a bogeyman and the bastard is rotting in hell if there is one. His son will join him there soon enough.
At this point I am just hoping for a stable democratic government in the USA!
Couple of questions.
1. Why is the west hated in the middle east?
2. Apart from 9/11 - How many times have middle east countries bombed USA?
I learned that millions were involved in the protests that eventually drove out the Shah. He had an army of 700,000 that actually turned on him. His inner circle and sycophants departed with him.
I highly recommend The Fall of the Peacock Throne as a read.
Can fly a cheap drone from anywhere in Iran and upset the flow of oil. There is a reason Iran was left alone until now
That looks like another "I totally obliterated their weapons" from a year ago.
VIX, the volatility index has been slowly dropping over the last few hours and oil back under $100 so I reckon TACO is on the way.
Won't be surprised if he's telling Cuba to rise up by next Friday, just after the closing bell.
The grift goes on:
Great post and one thing I’d say is the Republicans would want to be a lot more choosy and diligent with their next pick.
Definitely, or if the US citizens didn’t elect him again..
I've seen a few of these posts as well - nothing verified though. Have you seen any legitimate sources?
I've also seen claims that the US tried to get in contact regarding a ceasefire and the Iranians basically told them to do one.
It's hard to see America being able to rebuild their destroyed bases. Strategically this war has been a disaster for them.
I don't foresee Iran or the government their collapsing. If Israel does survive hard to see what future it has. It's a country in a volatile region which has been unable to prevent it's infrastructure being gradually destroyed in a war it started
Once people lose faith in a colonial settler project it's doomed. It has required monstrous financial backing from America. The influence of the Jewish lobby in the US is diminishing and that process will only be sped up by this war which Trump was stupid enough to partake in.
How different the middle east would look today if Mossadegh was left in power and not ousted in a coup by America and Britain.
TTF gas still marching ahead as Asian buyers compete to secure cargos already on the seas and less transporters available to ship it. It's a multiple thing this time compared to 2022.
Oil, gas, fertilizers and chemicals all affected.
That's democracy for you.
Howdi no. Trump is in a bind and is coming across as increasingly unhinged as this war goes on. You have to wonder what Bibi has on him that he did what multiple presidents down the years refused to do name take on Iran militarily.
I said it over on the Trump thread, there's an incredible level of Dunning-Kruger hubris running throughout this administration. At all levels right up to the orange moron himself.
It really does have to be the most corrupt, inept and chaotic administration to be in charge of the US that I have ever seen.
No, you haven't answered my questions. You might recall that my question to you was about a link you posted regarding the votes of MEPs. You might read it again then come back with a cogent response - instead of shrieking some kind of nonsense about my comprehension ability.
Who are you talking about in your final sentence? Seems to me it could apply to the US, Israel, or Iran - or all three of them.
Show some guts from the Fanny who faked bone spurs to get out of being drafted. And his sheep cult following thinks he’s a hard man when he’s the most pathetic thin skinned wimp going who needs constant praise. Make it make sense.
Yesterday a military analyst on sky news mentioned Iran is thought to have 70k shahed drones.
It matters not a whit how Israel is viewed on Boards, what matters is how it behaves in real life.
And if anything, these past couple of decades in general and last few years in particular have shown Israel to be a massively disruptive influence on the region.
More and more it is looking like the West has no business inserting itself in to situations in the Middle East. It was sold as an admirable construct, "bringing documentary" when in reality is has been about controlling the outcome, protecting Israel and maximizing US interests. What sort of democracy is that?
The US was manipulated in to attacking Iran by a fascist criminal because the US is led (militarily and politically) by unintelligent popularity obsessed idiots in Hegseth and Trump. They bombed a school killing 100 odd girls as their first act. Then killed the sitting leader who now has been obsessed by apparently a more hardcore leader who is motivated partly in having both his father and wife killed by the US/Israel last week.
Lindsey Graham has gone in 24 Hrs from imploring the US to join Israel in attacking Lebannon to asking Israel to stop bombing Iranian oilfields as that strategy has backfired massively.
The whole thing is an unmitigated sh*tshow at this point and everyone knows who is to blame for this. And there is more than enough blame to go around.
We can only dream. Truly shameful what they done to him.
Maduro emboldened him. Straight onto Iran while talking about Cuba next, not understanding the powder keg that is the Middle East and its importance to the world economy, all the while getting led into the woods by Netanyahu.
A large part of this whole thing stems from his real estate developer friend and his son-in-law not loving the vibes with Iranian negotiators. The thought process seems to be "We offered them free uranium for energy and they didn't grasp at it, so that must mean they want to drop nukes on us and Israel." Then Israel said they were going to attack and America just joined in.
There is no way this is going to plan. There is no way the White House had any actual game plan mapped out with all of the scenarios. I think Trump naively and stupidly thought he could instigate regime change in two days and then move on, believing geopolitics to be like business, protected by laws and rights and smart lawyers and real estate mogul friends who could make things happen if you throw enough money at a problem. 20 billion for shipping insurance didn't work so let's just tell the sailors to grow some balls. Then tell the people that Iran was about the take over the Middle East and hope it sticks.
He just doesn't want nuclear weapons under the control of a mullah that he can't control.
Timely reminder.
It was the artificially tanned one that pulled out of the "Iran Nuclear Deal".
But, but, but…
Leader of a country who has an international arrest warrant issued for war crimes continues to kill scores of kids daily while the west sits idly by and says f all about it.
The UN children's agency, UNICEF, has described the number of children falling victim to strikes as "staggering".
UNICEF's Middle East director Edouard Beigbeder said, according to latest reports, at least 83 children have been killed and 254 wounded since 2 March.
That amounts to 10 children killed each day, Beigbeder said, adding the figures "are a stark testament to the toll that conflict is taking on children".
"As military strikes continue across the country, children are being killed and injured at a horrifying rate, families are fleeing their homes in fear, and thousands of children are now sleeping in cold and overcrowded shelters."
Fears are growing that Lebanon is facing a humanitarian catastrophe over the strikes that have displaced hundreds of thousands.
Israel is losing massive face in the US too. Everyone can see that Netanyahu dragged Trump into a unnecessary and pointless war and one without any real benefits. Israel being seen as a liability to America's interests is the worst possible outcome for them.
Meanwhile Ori Goldberg reports that Tel Aviv has just endured the most intense two hour bombardment of the entire war under Iranian missiles.
Trump has watched while Israel used US made weapons to obliterate Gaza and thousands of its people.
He is already way beyond mere badness.
That's only because the Russian paymasters of Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Green are telling them to be appalled.
From the start the MAGA cult adopted a twin track approach of courting the christian fundamentalist, Israel-loving mongrel Nazis who wanted to wipe out all Muslims and the unreconstructed Nazis who want to wipe out all Jews.
Carlson, Taylor Greene along with the Groyper headcases were tasked with bringing the latter along.
But now that the former have asserted their dominance, the Russians need to split the movement and ramp up the chaos further.
America are way big enough to take responsibility for attacking countries in the middle east. Israel didn't make them do anything. America has a history of conflict in many regions of the world. It's not always Israel's fault. Plus, it's not mainland America living in the middle east where they are surrounded by people who want to exterminate them.
The so called "scaremongerers" have been proved consistently correct and at all stages they have been ridiculed by the "very serious people" who have at all stages been proved to have the imagination and foresight of a very thick brick.
My fear is all this ends in another genocide in Europe, of immigrants, as the major countries fall one by one into the arms of fascism.
Trump no longer being President - and that could be a long time away yet - it could be a decade or longer - might ironically aid European fascists - as in some ways he's an impediment to them gaining the necessary support they need to get in and completely ruin countries. But I could be wrong about that last point as they could get in anyway, certainly in Britain they very well may get in anyway.
