Shady as fck, not a great help to Ukraine, but tough.
Orban ?
Europe has only two actual leaders, Zelensky and Orban , rest are snowflakes, and that's why we are where we are. Bring back Boris
The 'West' didn't provide enough of the things it could easily provide(money/weapons) it's certainly not going to help with man power.
As I have being saying for 2 years - this is a battle of wills and the West doesn't have the stomach for it. We showed a bit more resolve than Russia expected but not enough to show Russia that they cannot win. Unfortunately it's Ukraine that has to pay the price for our gross incompetence.
It was nothing to do with electoral popularity.
Families were leaving Ukraine before their sons reached 18. Imagine colleges in Ukraine, empty of young males. It has a very negative impact on Ukraine as a country and society. At least now those families can stay and their sons finish college without the fear of not being able to leave the country.
Your remarkable neutrality continues to impress me Brother Bricky. Your neutrality is so great, that it has overlooked the insane state of Russian military recruitment and focused squarely on the Ukrainians. How increadbly neutral of you!
Now enough of this trying to have a chin-wag like a regular neutral poster; you still have to address for the Russian practice of bombing children. Do you condemn it? Or shall you continue to ignore that request….and show everyone how neutral you are?
That law on allowing more emigration was incredibly dumb. Zelensky needs to realise that electoral popularity with young men won't do any good if Putin ends up running Ukraine. This is an existential war for Ukraine, and democracy is being defended
Quite frankly, I despair that if a Western country were attacked, there would be the same willingness to sacrifice that Ukraine has shown. We have decades of pacifism and defence cuts. Stalin saw the people that admired the Soviet Union in the West as "useful idiots" and I feel the same way about those who like Putin.
I don't even entertain him anymore, he's blocked. Why would I reply if he doesn't reply himself to questions ?
You don't get to ask questions of others on this discussion board and expect a response when you flat out refuse to engage and respond yourself.
I fully expect an uptick in posts from this poster as the news for Russia appears to improve. It's his form. Where mass rape is committed and schools deliberately targeted by Russian missiles, he pops up with glee. Read into that what you will.
Since 700K volunteers entered the AFU in 20222. How many people have entered since then through volunteering and mobilization ?
How many do you think a forced mobilization of Ukraine's youth will raise considering they are legally allowed to volunteer already ?
It's genuinely the only way.
People will complain that it's unfair but it's war, **** sucks anyway. It's either full mobilisation or letting Russia claim more and more land.
There are big problems with young Ukrainian men deserting, this has been verified by reliable sources. Plenty don't want to die for a war there is little chance of winning. You can criticise that or defend it, but it's human nature. Same on the Russian side I'm sure
Full mobilisation now from 18 year old up. Its the only way. You either do it now or I fear you might not have a country to go home to at some point. Plus maybe ask allies can they run ads on tv and radio in their countries asking for people to join Ukraine military and what they have to do to join it etc. I know there is a a trickle amount who go to Ukraine but if they could tap into this a lot more they might get a lot more people to join and possibly with military experience already. May Ukraine need to go and try and take out Putin and the leadership surrounding him. Special Forces. Maybe if there all taking out the war might stop.
Yep. Ukraine is beginning to buckle.
They need more help in terms of manpower.
Ukrainians are clever people, they'll think of a solution but Europe really needs to do more.
So delaying the inevitable then. Stupid tactics. Just like the allies before WW2.
The 300 or so invaders fog mist covered movement is unfortunate begs the question where defenders going the other way?
Hopefully the continued slow advance won't develop into a breakout
Europe seems to be less and less concerned and I think the Russians know they have done enough from what we can know I fear if donbas is taken Zaporizhzhia is next using Kharkiv as a distraction to spread its resources.
A Russian economic collapse is the only hope i cant see it happening.
they don’t actually want Ukraine to fall but as they see it ‘avoiding WW3’ is a higher priority…
Because Ukraine could actually win if they received enough support although I personally wanted NATO to at least enter Western Ukraine and clear the skies. This would be an impossible war for Russia without their advantage in the skies.
Maybe Ukraine are happy with falling back and shortening the frontline. They might think they can hold the line a lot easier at the gates of kharkiv, Kramatorsk, pavlograd, Zaporizhia etc. Clearing the Russians from Kherson has been a huge plus for them.
Obviously they'll still bleed the Russians a lot while retreating. We'll see what happens but the stakes will be much higher if they make it close to any of those cities. As Russia push further away from Donetsk they'll desperately want another large city further into Ukraine to use as a hub.
If that's the case then why help at all if they don't mine Russia taking over , why did they not let it fall 4 years ago
Western/NATO troops will not be sent into Ukraine under any circumstances. Even if that means the whole country is overrun.
Realistically all russia is gaining every day in Ukraine is an increasing tole of casualties and wasted resources squandered to try grab land the Ukrainians won't let them hold onto.
putin wants others to step in on Ukraine's side to justify his lies that somehow his empire is fighting for its survival. In reality he is just getting thousands killed every week so he can hold onto power or it could be that he has no reason and the war is completely the product of his deranged geriatric logic. putin is loosing in Ukraine badly and he is insuring it is the people of russia who will pay for his actions in the longer term.
Apparently there are some desertions too, but I've never seen that quantified reliably.
The main issue is that the fronts are very long and Russia's invasion is vast (but has been spectacularly unsuccessful).
Realistically Russia are gaining every day, what does it take for others to step into help Ukraine. It's an easy win, if people would help

Russia's 1st humanoid robot was revealed today. A bit like a mobik, it fell over as if shot and our efforts at hiding the disaster convinced no one.
Even the robots act like they've had too much Vodka!!
RuZZia's South Caucasus influence / imperialist policy continues to decline.
Meanwhile the Tankie vermin living within our societies will continue to blame western democracies, whilst fervently supporting RuZZian imperialism threatening & invading it's neighbours.
Thanks I've edited my post
I think Ukraine knows what it is doing in maintaining the level of troops to deal with putin's terrorist attacks while keeping society there functioning. They are keeping their identity as a nation that does not sink to putin's level where disregard for life is a way of fighting. It is never going to come out and say it has enough troops or weapons but more Ukrainians on the front lines might very well lead to more dead Ukrainians as modern fighting techniques slow chances of progress of the front lines in either direction. I think Ukraine has continued to be more prepared for dealing with putin's terrorists as the war has gone on and their indigenous weapons industry will insure their nation does not fall to attempts at empire building by putin.
In spite of what some would say a long war where their main income source is continuously going up in flames does not suit putin.
Edit: Orsk refinery mysteriously caught fire today:
Im aware it's extremely easy for me to say this from Ireland.....but this war is a matter of survival for Ukraine and her people against a bunch of Nazi invaders from Moscow.
It's either throw the kitchen sink time (which includes full mobilization) or see their national identity be destroyed.
I despair at the lack of support from the west. We're building up much larger problems if Russia can take Ukraine.
That says they cleared Rodynske, not Pokrovsk. It should help with logistics though as it clears more area near the north of Pokrovsk and Myrnograd and it's situated on a road leading into both cities.
