That says they cleared Rodynske, not Pokrovsk. It should help with logistics though as it clears more area near the north of Pokrovsk and Myrnograd and it's situated on a road leading into both cities.
SkruffyTalez, who is sometimes less optimistic, says Ukraine has cleared Rodynske.
I like that channel but his information tends to be outdated (for example his video about the helicopter raid was days after the fact). His map analysis is interesting at times but he's very biased, I take what he says always with a pinch of salt.
It's definitely true though as written above that Ukraine needs to decide: Refuse a general mobilisation and watch Russia take more and more ground, or force the issue in an attempt to halt them.
Reports Ukraine has liberated 50% of Pokrovsk, including the centre where they have again raised the Ukrainian flag at city hall.
Mike Johnson betrayed them during the battle for Avdiivka in the most despicable way. South American countries would not give shells when they were needed. India did nothing. Turkey did nothing.
At the beginning of the war Gary Kasparov said the west should call Putin's bluff and go in. I remember an early report that said what the Russians were really afraid of was 'NATO' entering the war (in reality a coalition of the willing from natoland)
Yes I would worry for Ukraine ,no matter how many Men and equipment Putin uses up he has and will have the numbers to grind it out .Putin knows he will not be pushed out and will grind on unless some real game changer comes about for Ukraine which I dearly hope for but it doesn't look like that will happen .
The news coming out from the moment from a ukranian perspective is deeply worrying.
I can't understand why Ukraine hasn't already fully mobilized.
I'd be disappointed if the ratio was half considering the crazy Russian tactics. Russia drones and FABS would be the 2 most common ways they die if I was to guess.
I agree on the cowardice. If Russia was targeting NATO the Russian air force would be wiped out by now or at least forced way out of FAB range. It's truly pathetic Russia has almost a free shot at Ukraine in this regard after nearly 4 year's. They shouldn't need to pull off an operation spider web to put a dent in Russian aviation.
Fair enough. I didn't see the post you quoted as that poster is on my ignore list because … well, you kinda have the explanation right there.
That said, there are plenty of validated reports of the Russians using chemical weapons at various points along the frontline. Haven't seen any for a couple of months, but if that reflects an absence on the ground I'd say it's most likely due to problems with Russian logistics rather than any recent aversion to using them.
In the interests of balance, probably also worth pointing out that the Russians have been suffering way above average cases of "gas gangrene" almost since the beginning of this invasion. But that's because they mostly can't be bothered to evacuate their wounded from the frontline, not because the Ukranians are deliberately targetting their medics and hospitals.
Jumping at (dubiously sourced) reports of Russians claims that they’ve taken a city? How very Neutral of you Brother Bricky.
Now build on that neutrality by telling everyone how bad it is that the Russians bomb children.
(It’s worth mentioning again that silence on things like that rubbish any claim of being neutral in this or frankly any conflict. Only a regime supporter would ignore or excuse the murder of children)
@RoyalCelt "If their losses haven't been that high then they're doing a good job at pretending they're running out of men."
Given the Russian meat waves my guess is that Ukraine's losses are 50% of Russias. 200k kia, 300k wounded???
What the west has done to Ukraine - largely out of cowardice - will go down in history as the worst betrayal: "We can't go to war with Russia because then - we'd be at war with Russia" Sad.
Yes I found it a bit confusing myself.
General Syrski said recently that Russian claims of capturing Pokrovsk are a delusion.
Regarding Kupiansk its thought to be more defensible than Pokrovsk because of the Oskil river going through it, though Russia has a bridge head over it.
The information war is also also a front in this war. Confusing the enemy and demoralising them with propaganda, like when the Luftwaffe dropped leaflets on Britain.
OSINT groups Strategic Aviation and SZ has unveiled a massive launch pad and service center for kamikaze drones in Tsymbulova, Oryol region — which, despite Ukrianian strikes in the past, is now fully operational. Militarnyi reports.
The facility has at least
- 93 garages and 15 hangars for storing UAVs — facility area of more than 5 km².
-Storage capacity for more than 500 drones; at least 175 already counted inside garages.
- 8 fixed launchers on site and a 2.5 km launch road that enables mass wave llaunches.-And 20 extra garages likely for maintenance and pre-launch prep — a full drone assembly line on Russian soil.
The Russian Defence Ministry announced earlier this morning to total capture of the eastern part of Kupyansk. Obviously considering Zelensky said 5 days ago only 60 Russian troops were left in the city and a mopping up operation is underway we may need further confirmation in the coming days to verify.
If everything stays as it is, there will be advances of tens of kilometers per day in the Zaporizhzhia direction, — volunteer Sternenko
Denys Davydov reporting that on his telegram..
Also:
The Armed Forces must learn to fight without infantry, because the infantry will soon end. This was announced today by Ukrainian People's Deputy Maryana Bezuglaya.
According to Ukrainian sources, Alexander Syrskyi, commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said at a meeting with Zelensky that by spring there would be no one to fight, let alone hold the front, where it is still possible. Syrsky asks Zelensky to announce a general mobilization and significantly toughen the punishment for desertion.
It is reported that Zelensky proposed to return to this issue in December, when the amount of funding from sponsors becomes clear.
There's a lot of land down south with open fields and villages. We could potentially see the Russians rolling through these areas if Ukraine can't sort it out. What'll happen then if they get close to major cities like Zaporizhia, pavlograd etc.
Ukraine had a huge army at the beginning of this war. Have their losses really been that high?
If their losses haven't been that high then they're doing a good job at pretending they're running out of men.
I know what gas gangrene is. The op suggested chemical weapons were used,or gas…I don't know what he's talking about.
Myrnohrad must be doing something right if Russia is resorting to massive FAB 3000 bombs. Russia will not want to completely level these high rises.
What's the talk of a Russian breakthrough in the Zaporizhia sector? Anyone got any info?
The gas is in the infected tissue, not the weapons.
What gas weapons... Seeing nothing in that article....
Russias use of banned chemical weapons has brought gas gangrene back to Europe.
Parallels with Saddam Hussein gassing the Kurds on the 1980s.
Another reminder to all the head-wrecking grifters here and elsewhere that they can always f**k off to Russia if they dislike liberal democracy so much. Hopefully with that stain on our reputation, Conor McGregor, sailing the boat.
Its a reminder of what awaits you when a free press is taken away and a gun pointed at you for looking sideways at the wrong person.
Reports Trump administration trying to water down a UNGA resolution on Ukraine, removing references to territorial integrity, Crimea and aggression.
Washington is trying to soften a UN resolution that has long condemned Russia’s occupation of Crimea and other territories, KyivPost reports.
For years, the annual vote has stood as a global statement of support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and a record of human-rights abuses in Russian-held areas.
Now, the US reportedly wants references to “territorial integrity” and “aggression” removed, recasting it under the vague banner of the “war in Ukraine.”
According to The Times of India, Moscow and New Delhi are finalizing an agreement to attract skilled Indian workers to Russia — a deal expected to be signed during Vladimir Putin’s visit to India in December.
The plan aims to fill Labour shortages in sectors such as construction and textiles, where demand has surged as Russia faces manpower shortages due to the ongoing war in Ukraine and declining migration from Central Asia.
Indian specialists are expected to partly replace Central Asian workers, many of whom have left Russia amid worsening economic conditions and fear of forced mobilization.
The number of Indians working in Russia has already increased by 25% over the past year, and by the end of 2025, the total could exceed 70,000
Didn't we already cover your relationship with Neutral sources Bricky? Besides, we already have a way to determine what is Russian propganda and well all I can say is…thank you for your service there :P
Now, in furtherance of your service do you care to explain why it's OK that the Russians to bomb children in their homes, hospitals and schools? Or do you actually have a condemnation for that? How about it my Neutral Brother? Want to give it a shot?
Reports Iraq stopped paying Lukoil because of sanctions. Lukoil has declared "Force Majeur".
Also reports Bulgaria planning to seize Lukoil asset.
is there any other u tube /website or whatever that is ‘more objective’/ less hyperbole?
Most reliable, neutral sources now reporting that 90% of Pokrovsk is under Russian control. A clean up is underway and more forces entered the city under thick fog on Sunday to assist with that operation which will take a while.
This is disputed by Ukraine who are saying it is all Russian propaganda and misinformation, so probably best to wait and see what the actual reality is on the ground.
Yes the system of putin spending vast amounts of blood from his terrorist state forces simply walking into another Ukrainian trap has echoes from the past.
https://cepa.org/article/pokrovsk-where-putin-shattered-his-teeth/
Hopefully a good hit.
He makes a good point. Even if Ukraine take big losses here as long as the ratio is high enough it'll be worth it for Ukraine to continue. Putin has set a date of February to capture the Donbass. His generals will be under pressure to do this even if it means making stupid decisions.
Pokrovsk is crucial for road and rail junctions so Ukraine might pull out the stops to try to hold onto at least the transport links. It's also about buying time to fortify , Slovyansk, Kramatorsk and Druzhivka.
When leaders are in power for a long time, they can be difficult to persuade to change their approach, but that certainly applies to Putin more so. It's very hard to change leaders in a war of defence. How would the voting process be protected from bombing? The US didn't have this problem in WW2 and Vietnam as except Hawaii the fighting was an ocean away.
We have to stop buying Russian oil.
The manpower issue was highlighted 18 months ago. For mobilised troops to be effective they need months of training. Sadly they are needed now.
I am more worried now than I have been since the start of the war. Things are not looking good.
