Broke the Kone transfer so seems to be reliable.

Looks like he'll be going in as a number 10 alongside Bruno\Garnacho

Absolutely on board with this. Think he's perfect for us in a 10.

What's the plan then for Bruno if Cunha is the number 10? Bruno and Ugarte deeper?

I think Bruno will rotate between the 2, he can play both of them as good as the other imo, I absolutely love him and can only imagine how much worse it would be without him

The club don't have 62.5m to spend on one player. It's internet tier whatever nonsense.

Cunha - not going to happen.

I reckon Garnacho will be sold if this rumour is true. I reckon our team would look like this:

    Striker (hopefully Osimhen)

    Cunha Amad

    Dorgu Ugarte Bruno Dalot

    Martinez/Yoro De Ligt Mazraoui

    Onana

Cunha & Osimhen. Lads, that's never never land.

There will be some sales this summer as well to take in to account.

Transfers rarely get paid in one lump sum.

Will be paid over yearly whatever contract is offeres.

I.E Sancho deal we are only paying off this summer.

romano now on the bandwagon. he would be my dream (realistic) signing this summer, even though we need a striker more.

i just cant see us getting this over the line.

It can be done but it's whether both players would want to join us.

We are going to get good money for Antony, that's great news

Would be delighted if we sign Cunha - I think he could be an excellent player for us in the spot Garnacho is in. Will offer a greater goal threat - and I think he is a better protector of the ball than Garnacho is.

I have thought our practical best case for the summer was Cunha and Delap - I have big concerns on delap but I can't see us stretching to Osimhen if we do sign Cunha - 120m+ on those two positions feels way too much when there are 2 or 3 other signings needed.

Did no one hear the Jim Rathcliffe interview? The club owes £98 million in instalments this summer to pay for existing players. The club is cutting back hugely financially.

So even we sell Gernacho, Rashford, Sancho, Anthony under FFP only Rashford is pure profit because he was an academy player- We will make huge losses on Anthony and Sancho. I don't see us having big money to sign new players this summer unless they cash in on Bruno and I personally wouldn't blame Bruno if he left.

yes, we owe money on players. everyone does. That is just a fact of football, its how the inddustry works.

You buy players, you pay for them over time.

Garnacho would also be pure profit from your list.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,297 ✭✭✭talla10

Yes I'm aware of how football works but we are already at our limit due to the disastrous windows of last few years. This is what Ratcliffe and the club have been telling fans. We need to sell what we have first and reduce our wage bill.

And we signed Gernacho in 2020 from Atletico Madrid albeit for a small enough fee

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,897 ✭✭✭scottser

We've already lost on Sancho - his contract expires next summer. We're in a situation where if Chelsea don't take him, then we'll probably have to take whatever we can get for him just to get his wages off the books. Garnacho has been here since 2020, is a product of the academy and represents pure profit. If Anthony generates a decent fee this summer; 25-30m will amount to an acceptable loss when amortised over the course of his contract and again, his wages off the books generates a lot of headroom for us. Bruno isn't going anywhere but realistically we need to be looking at his replacement next season because he's pushing on now. He's been very lucky not to have suffered serious injury in his career.

Things are not as bad as you think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Iseedeadpixels

Gonna quote this, we are going to be saving a lot on salaries, plus Rashford, Sancho, and Malacia will generate us around 70m in transfers.

We'll sell a few more players and some kids, there will be transfer funds.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 49,521 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

We are like the second lowest wage/revenue in the league. We don't need to reduce the wage bill. we need to increase the value we get for it.

We signed Garnacho for 400k. He'll have amortization of 100k, or like 0. Either way I think calling it pure profit is fair. I think 99.75% profit qualifies, really.

We need to keep some money for a new keeper!

Cunha + a striker + a GK would be a great result - with ideally a RWB (even a budget / potential option)

Another goal for anothy tonight half volley from his right foot, he will be like a new signing 😂

Goal scoring number 9 has to be priority, see how much money is left in the pot after that .

Just got home after been at the game this weekend, Manchester never fails to deliver brilliant time was had and weather was perfect.

Game was poor enough but I do think Amass and Fredricson were two positives. Also interesting to note that we were walking out of stadium area about half an hour after the game and all the players were driving out in their cars. Manager really doesn't react after the games he just sends them packing.

Yep I know he mentioned it before but it was just interesting to see it in action/reality just how quick the turn around really was.

Don't see us going for a new GK this summer. I reckon Amorim will be looking at that forward line big time and also a CM.

IMO we get a keeper, because i can't see Onana and Bayindir staying - even if bayindir leaves we have to sign somone to replace him. But i guess you are talking first choice. In which case I think it depends on if anyone comes in with a decent offer for Onana. One that we can profit from in terms of amorization + wages vs what we'd get for him. We can't replace Onana without selling him.

I assume he said something like "you can't even beat Wolves, now take your 200k and get out of my sight"
