It did make for good TV viewing as Trump said, but that was not good diplomacy from Trump and Vance. Macron and Starmer kissed Trump's behind on their visits to the White House this week. Zelensky is right not to do the same.

The world order as we knew it is over. US and USSR Russia now on the same side. We have to decide if we want to be a vassal state to these or find our place on the world stage. If the EU is to survive, it can no longer pander to this nonsense. I'd take some pain to fund an independent EU army and form meaningful alliances with like minded states worldwide.

Vance was chosen to be there by Trumps backers. They have an agenda and Vance was executing it. When Bolton said Trumps brain is Mush, I think he might be correct. Lashing out like that suggests old age has gotten the better of Trump. What an insidious administration. What a vile bully Trump is. Vance patted Trump on the shoulder at the end of the meeting, as if it went exactly as planned.
Maybe it's time that us in Ireland and across Europe were not a defined country nationality. Maybe we should scrap all that and just be Europeans and we all look after Europe and Europeans in it. Militarily as well.
