Conor Brady also broke into the team in that 2019 season and has managed to retain his place in the county setup for the years since, despite being very injury prone.
Graham even brought him on in the 2020 semi final despite the fact that he hadn’t featured at all in that campaign. McVeety made his debut in 2013 and really matured into a stand out player in 2018. Others like Niall Murray have taken longer. Give these young Gowna lads a chance before labelling them.
If that Gaels side are a team capable of reaching the last four at senior level in this county, you can’t blame any manager for our county team ending up at Tailteann Cup level. That was dire stuff in the first half.
The only thing meant it wasn’t over at half time was the amount of wides Lough had.
Was that Martin Tynan who got a few belts at the end of the Gowna v Ramor game? Cole had a great game for Ramor. Always showing and great link player. Mannion big impact off the bench. Some talk that Sean McEvoy will be back for final.
Crosserlough didn't impress yesterday and with James Smith going off they will sweating
I agree, there's not been much to write home about across all three grades this year.
Gowna's ability to come back from the dead has been admirable, but they've looked way off the pace all year and barring the Ballyhaise game they started slowly in most games. They will be back, but Ramor deserving winners today.
Yes he seems to have ran on and had an altercation with Dermot McCabe. Bit of talking between them and then it got physical and the Gowna lads weighed in.
Gowna kicked that match away. Some very poor shooting. I didn’t see a Ramor win coming.
Gowna's discipline was horrendous today. I didn't think the referee did them any favours but if you're going to barrage him with abuse every time a decision goes against you... play stupid games win stupid prizes.
Unsavoury scenes at the end that would have been better avoided.
He's on facebook having another go at McCabe :)
I think Gowna need to freshen up the management team. They have brought success ,but all that roaring would take it's toll after 3 or 4 years .
Séamus McCabe had to be stopped from going to the ref too. Not sure what that was about, ref wasn't the cause of them being poor this year. Lot went on at the final whistle tbf, a few players might get looked at. Was it Tynan who ran on and was hit to the ground?
That fella is a liability and not solid, and I'm being kind in not saying anything else about him.
I'll have a rewatch on Cavstream later (not the full game, I'm not a masochist) but it looked in real time like a "supporter" went on the field to get into McCabe's face. In fairness, he didn't react. Regardless of what has happened no supporter has any business going over to the opposition management or players like that.
I'm not going "won't someone think of the children" ala Helen Lovejoy but jesus wept it was embarrassing.
It looks like he got a bit of a boot on the ground from one Gowna player in particular.
McCabe in fairness just walked away.
It was probaly the best Oisin Pierson played in a few years. He kicked a few good scores in the first half, and was always a threat, though had a costly miss towards the end. Conor Brady is constantly getting injured.
Monkey see, monkey do - have a look at how their management act along the sideline, and that’s at all levels of the club.
I’ve raised before on here that it’s the same clubs at stuff like this constantly. If only every referee acted like Martin Sexton and had a no nonsense approach.
aye t’was Conor madden that drew the boot at the baldy lad when he was on the ground.
Sums up that club.
They came across as bad losers today, pity because they’re a brilliant team when on top form. Neither referee covered themselves in glory today.
Refereeing standard has been poor. But poor to both. I thought Ramor were hard done a few times as well. I don't think either side has cause for complaint as it evened out. Gowna need to watch that, and the sideline too which this all seemed to stem from. Seemed a lot of frustration for this year boiled over as they just haven't looked like themselves all year. That's no excuse for how some acted though and need to look at themselves there
Another Pat Clarke special. At least he in consistently bad. Both sides got some very harsh calls but he doesn't take any kind of back chat and will bring it forward. Some shocking calls all round.
Overall absolutely delighted with that result. It was a cracking game of football. Tactically Ramor got it spot on Gowna had some bad wides but there was no space or free man so they had to shoot.
I still think Ramor have another gear and if the rumours about McEvoy are correct it's surely worth 4 or 5 points to Ramor as he is probably the best player in the county on his day..
Post up apparently…

Sincere apologies to all my followers and my 4 young boys and all my family including everyone from Ramor for going on to the pitch but excitement got the better of me and a terribly insulting comment from Gowna’s Maor Foirne was not necessary. As seen on the video, the players reaction was over the top and I now sit in Cavan Emergency dept with a broken shoulder. Actions have consequences but some outweigh the initial action. Ramor for Oliver Plunkett 💙💙💙

He’s done well to get seen that quickly and to have had an X-ray by now. Last time a player I know went to A&E there was an 8 hour delay just to be seen.
Didn't see the game bar the sh1te at the end. Was following it on twitter seed gowna kicked themselves out of it
Seen that supporters fb post ffs
He doesn't do himself any favours
They've been narky all year, a stronger ref would have put more manners on them against the Gaels. And it's a shame, as you said when they are in full flight they are a superb team to watch. Most of them are young and should learn, but it was ill discipline that cost them against Glenties last year. Oisin Pierson is a very good player but spends so much time in totally meaningless nonsense that gets him into touble, and that's just one example.
I agree, both referees were poor today, especially in the senior game but I thought there was a clear penalty for Arva in the intermediate game.
People complain about refereeing but who’d do it when you see the way referees are treated by coaches, supporters and players.
Until the GAA tackle the issue and stop the crap that goes on what do we expect - you’d need your head examined to be a referee at the minute IMO. There are easier ways to earn €50 than getting abuse roared at ya by all and sundry for 60 minutes.
He done well on the Gowna score which was given by the umpires ,but overturned as wide. A bit of communication. There is incidents off the ball but a referee can't see everything. Linesmen and umpires are there too
Bad time to pick up a injury two weeks out from final hopefully he will be fit to play some part.
Been a great impact sub during the championship run.
Just seen the video jesus I think Madden could be facing a long ban for the stamps on Tynan. He shouldn't have been on the pitch but jesus what scumbag stamping anyone when they are down .
Seen the video and I also think a member of the Gowna management needs the book thrown at him.
& a kick to the head/shoulder.
Outright thuggery. Nothing will come of it though wait and see. County board won’t do anything.
It’s easy for people here to throw stones behind aliases. Sometimes a rush of blood to the head can result in scenes like today.
The bottom line is supporters shouldn’t be going onto the pitch, particularly to the opposition after a game, and more importantly supporters who have history with the person they approached.
I’m no big fan of McCabe but he tries to walk away in the video I’ve seen and the individual then proceeds to shoulder him after following him.
Interesting in the Minors neither team who reached the Division 1 final last year when it was u17, are in this year's final. Cavan Gaels reached the final at St Pauls in Belfast also.
Kingscourt have some talent coming through and Southern Gaels are usually competitive underage.
