Following on from main thread in Current Affairs about Tubs in general (now closed and mod suggestion that Entertainment category is more suitable).
Indeed, entertainment in certain respects is what Tubs has provided, albeit perhaps in a way not intended. And still awaiting 150k payback to the licence fee holder.
And of course, his new career in Virgin Radio which is imminent.

Should just turn 2Fm over to RTE Gold crew and be done with it!
That's a lot of vacancies on RTE Radio… good job Tubs is tied up nicely in London.
Dan is going to be a busy man between now and when he takes his holidays.
Sinking ship.
Confirmed:

And now Donncha O'Callaghan's exit from 2fm is coming soon...
Tbf, it did move around the schedules a bit in its later years. From Thursdays to Fridays and then to Sundays.
I've been watching the TOTP repeats on BBC4 every Friday for the last few years (once they hit the mid-80s), they're now up to April 1996, so the move to Friday nights, now considered the beginning of the end for TOTP, is just around the corner.
Came across as being a little unsympathetic of Celine Dion who is suffering from stiff person syndrome. Q102 then carried a commercial that is supposed to be for LMFM. Discussed Italian perceptions of crimes against the preparation and eating of pasta for which he believes he is innocent for the most part. Couldn't say the same about crimes committed against radio.
"You're sh1t Lottie, away you go".
maybe the probation period was used - one can let go an employee during the probation period without giving any reason
Bryan loved and misses Top of the Pops but yet can't be sure what night it was broadcast on.
That episode of Gift Grub is two years old. I stopped listening to it fifteen years ago.
She was previously NKM but parted ways when the Tubridy payments scandal emerged.
Cannot say I am a fan of Lottie but Dan Healy has a lot to answer for. That guy has not got clue what he is at.
Re: that new Tubs gift grub.
It was pretty poor overall I thought, like most GGs for the last decade. Well past its sell by..
But I do wonder how come such a huge name like Tubs never had any sketches about him over the 14yrs he was at the LLS?
Had Mario no balls to slag him? How brave of him now to start taking digs.
HAs Lottie a famous agent? To get such a sub headline written?
Probably a sense of guilt over Gerry Ryan's death. A bit like Gerry Ryan's teaboy, radio broadcasting doesn't seem to be her thing.
The question is why they should be facilitating her at all. Maybe they're stuck with her but other than that, I can't see why she's on RTE's books at all. Especially when the station is looking for voluntary redundancies.
Gerry Ryan died 14 years ago last April. To put that into perspective, there is a large swathe of 2FM's current listeners who know very little about him. At best they might've heard him on the kitchen radio when they were growing up but that's the extent of their experience of him. Sadly for his family and for his fans, he's a long-gone relic of the past. He might as well be Din Joe as far as the younger generation are concerned.
An Empress without clothes, so to speak.
It is RTE. There might be a sideways shift into management if she has some abilities in that area. It is certaintly a very different RTE from the Tubridy era-RTE. RTE does need to be seen to be doing something as the RTE licence fee issue hasn't been sorted out yet.
It seems that just like our friend Ryan, Lottie has been found out. I wonder if she has been making car ads on RTÉ grounds again? The sub-head now reads "RTE’s Gerry Ryan would ‘give bosses earful’ as ‘betrayed’ girl Lottie axed from new show and replaced with TikTok star" which sums up Lottie perfectly. She wasn't "betrayed", she was promoted beyond her abilities, solely because of who she is. All other things being equal, if she was Lottie Hogan, daughter of plumber Steve Hogan, we'd never have heard of her. Her entitled "My dad was a big star here so you owe me a living too" just proves that she's be nothing without her surname.
There's a chap in London who would have jumped at the chance to replace her. It is a bit of a shock though.
That is one hell of a sub-headline: RTE has been accused of disrespecting the name of the late Gerry Ryan by badly treating his DJ daughter Lottie. "Entitled, defined in a single sentence"
Isnt Lottie an employee and not a contractor now?
Won't be surprised if 2fm will be the next under the axe.
RTE even out-Newscorp News UK. Lottie Ryan is gone after just a few weeks.

Wonder if News UK will be getting thoughts about Tubridy?
Getting a lightbulb for a sowing machine.
beacuse it's radio that matters.
Sampling some of the 2nd and 3rd hour. The theme based on first records bought and band names. The 11:18 am link made for pretty slick radio - Getting a lightbulb for a sowing machine.
Some redemption found at 11:28, a short introduction from Tubridy about the first record you may have bought - A link mostly engineered by the production team and a stark contrast to the usual mess.
At 11:33 Ryan comes back and does his own thing - McDonald's? Seagulls going bonkers? Then going to Bath? and then his voice just dramatically increased in pitch and intensity, the link then just exploded like the Death Star at the end of Star Wars. Even playing Shaboozey's 'A Bar Song' (Tipsy) in between could not make up for the chaotic presentation.
At 12:27 Coming out of 'Don't Stop Believin' led Ryan to announce "That was Journey" then angrily shouting JURNAY!! - possibly causing some listeners to experience a sudden jolt or possibly sending some into cardiac arrest whilst at the same time leading some to question the emotional health of the presenter.
12:58 To wrap up - Kicking walls in Dublin
Love Listening.
I'm starting to feel sorry for Ryan. 😔He must know he's not doing well at Virgin.
I don't think he does realise it. I know he has to keep up the hearty tones obviously, but I would say he thinks he is flying it. I really would. I have no sympathy for him. Greed was his downfall after all the years of being grossly overpaid for a job he was never suited to, in the first place.
Commercial stations tend to be pretty ruthless if a presenter isn't bringing the numbers in, even more so if the listenership is down on the previous presenter, so I'd imagine his contract would have a clear break clause in it.
I wonder will Tubs mention how Taylor Swift is Irish now, and then swing it around to JFK?
Mario Rosenstock really revelling in this! You get the feeling he had Tubs number from Day1 but couldn't open his mouth or lampoon him too heavily. Tubs held the keys to the late late show guest list and Irish entertainers need that promotional opportunity. Now yesterday's man, he's getting both barrels. 😂
