VP is not as high a title in IB as the average man-on-the-street probably assumes. 28 would be a common enough age to reach it.
A 28 year old VP that looks like a model. That's either massive nepotism or the President of the Bank follows Silvio Berlusconi style hiring practices.
To make them less safe?
Either way, if a a 28 year old bank vice-president isn't due to corruption, I don't know what is :)
Does Russia have the most dangerous windows on the planet?
Maybe we can send over Munster Joinery to take a look ?
Another window event in Moscow
I know its not an ideal way of determining the Ruble's value. But the Russians look to be slowly losing control of its value over the last month or so. Hopefully a bellwether to things starting to collapse. Could very well be 90 R to the dollar soon.

Was paywalled for me.
Still get a tickle in my balls when I use this archive site, thank you to whoever shared it here.
Excellent news.
More good news
I was reading that Ukrainian houses are much more upmarket than Russian ones - most Russians live in kips of apartments, totally run down and impoverished. The average Ukrainian has a better standard of living, more western in outlook.
So I have noticed too. I heard one Russian woman saying her son is better of to go to Ukraine because if he stayed at home he'd die from drinking vodka.
Good stuff.
Aside: I know they're a convict group so have likely had particularly horrific lives but I'm always struck by how much healthier Ukrainian soldiers look than Russian ones. The Russians often seem to be missing teeth are either overweight or rake thin and just look haggard. If they didn't come from a prison they were probably out in the sticks somewhere drinking themselves to death before this war. I don't recall ever seeing a group of healthy, young Russian troops in Ukraine (they must save them for marching in parades in Red Square)
That's Aberporth, a big UAV testing facility.
Probably just testing, but there's also a yacht missing that the UK CG, Irish CG and RNLI are searching for, so could be they're lending a hand.
Here's some evidence of discontent
What's that Drone up to ? What's of interest in the Irish sea ?
The Russians have withdrawn behind the white line at Robotyne. That line roughly corresponds with the defensive lines that were photographed and can be found on the deepstate map.
He did. And Kara-Murz twice too. None when they were in custody though.
The thing is those poisonings would have given Putin plausible deniability - even if the world and their mother would have known who was behind it. Killing them when they're in prison....not so much.
Putin loves methods where he can both pretend that it wasn't him but also have everyone know that it was him, at the same time. So basically all of the methods that have become running jokes: defenestrations, poisonings with radioactive isotopes, nerve agents etc
Tbf, he's tried to poison a lot of people.
I'm convinced Putin has some sort of Winning Streak wheel in his office, but instead of money where the ball lands on, you have posion, windows, stairs, drowning, etc
I thought he tried to posion Navalny. Am I mixing him up with someone else?
Putin seems to have a fear of making martyrs of people. Navalny and Murza are two outspoken critics who are both in jail and both he could have had killed a long time ago, yet he has allowed both to live. For now, at least.
Yes, and this is why Prigozhin will never be safe despite any deal he made. Perhaps he has something on Putin that makes him believe he is safe but I would not count on that if I were him.
Putting my dictator hat on for a moment (😈), I think you're right. Putin's power lies in fear and coercion. If he fails to make an example of anyone who plotted against him, then that power is diminished.
That by the way is why he was so keen on ordering the murders of Skripal, Litvinenko etc.
This is what a former British Army Chief alluded to on Newsnight a couple of nights ago. He said that a significant defeat of the Russians in one sector , perhaps in Bakhmut, maybe will lead to a general collapse across the front from Russian troops who really don't want to be there in the first place. The Russians don't have to beaten across the entire front line for the war to end suddenly.
They found Prigozhin.
While not wishing to appear to be defending Putin, what choice does he have if Surovikin was involved in the coup? If Surovikin was involved that's a tacit admission he knows the war is lost and wanted to save his own skin. I think when other commanders above him can't deny the facts on the ground they might look for a way out too.
If the doubles survive, they could play Putin in any movie about the war!
Germany allowing an EU sanctioned Russian propaganda machine free reign in Berlin.
While public pressure has forced many on the left to throw some support to Ukraine, solidarity remains for most, not all, with Moscow.
This is not anti German, the non socialist parties in the German govt have been excellent friends to Ukraine, just stymied as much as possible by the Socialists. The comrades throughout Europe must change and pick democracy over totalitarianism. That's is an existential issue for them and I appreciate that it will take some time to process.
That's the interesting thing to wonder about. Wagner's rebellion last weekend gave the impression that between Rostov and Moscow there was no-one available to intercept or halt the Wagner advance. If it is true that there really wasn't any kind of army division available to head down the road to stop them, that might suggest that Russia has deployed everything they've got into Ukraine.
Any breech of the frontlines might therefore be catastrofic for a Russian force that has no means to stop the AFU from swinging around and attacking their positions from behind.
That ain’t putin…must be a strange time for his doubles…. I wonder if they will make a film about it someday
Sorry to be a broken record but RE: Putin out and about meeting people. He ain't running the show anymore. Somebody is telling him that he needs to keep up appearances, to say XYZ, to attend XYZ.
Prigozhin had insurance when they went on the match and were not obliterated. Whatever the insurance is, it is dictating whatever Vladimir Putin is doing right now. He has been beyond uncharacteristic this week. And he knows himself as former KGB, behaving uncharacteristically is a view for suspicion.
