Pretty much,yes.
They could always surrender.
Russian tank simulator/training!
Does he try to take out Putin before Putin takes him out. I think this could quickly swing from an invasion of Ukraine to one of consolidating territory within Russia from which to protect yourself and establish a position of power. Shíts about to get real, quick. Especially if this latest offensive falters quickly.
I think he mentioned how they're being broken up into attack groups of 3 to 5 and probably mixed with other regiments under the DPR banner. Be next to improbable to have that conversation with regiments from other parts of Russia who you don't know. But not impossible.
This group look to have grown up together in Kaliningrad and to other Russians probably would be viewed as having more Western views and values.
That strategy's been working fine so far for Ukraine, but Russia? Not so much....Bakhmut being a pretty good example. And as Ukraine gets more and more long range weapon's, that will push Putins weapon's further and further back to protect them.
I'm beginning to think that most of the world is yanking Putin's chain by feigning apprehension at what his next move might be, his next move will probably be either stupid, or exactly what Ukraine wants, or both.
The longer Putin keeps his rabid snout in Ukraine, the better the chances of him getting thrown a curve ball from his own.
Having said that, I believe that the West wants to reinforce Ukraine's capability as quickly as possible.
Genuinely laughed at that one .
Prigozhin stands out in the Russian leadership, he was never a communist party member, he has never anything in the Soviet Union.
There is no ideological loyalty, no shared experience, no dream of restoration of past glory, of a return to a Socialist future.
I somehow doubt he will be able to get close enough to putin to do that.
putin on the other hand has a long reach.
Well I guess they're between a rock and a hard place then.
Interestingly enough, I read that minefield shown in the videos were from Himars launched mines supplied by Germany.
Do they have access to advanced Western computer systems like that? 🙂
I'm sure Belarus can help them out with their Belarusian laptops they are developing 😅
I wonder if the devil is in the details.
The regulation in question bans the broadcast of RT materials, but if it's being hosted by an RU server, that's not really a broadcast any more. The full text of the regulation (and I really wish people would cite source materials when referencing issues like this, not just news articles) can be found here. https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/HTML/?uri=OJ:L:2022:065:FULL&from=EN
I just checked and I can access RT.com from where I am in Prague.
Never mind that the same "people" in US media and the BBC(who for some reason winds up the Russians. They wind me up sometimes too. I must be part Russian) were also those who exposed the WMD bollocks for the bollocks it was. Benefits of a free press. Or a free enough press to criticise and expose governments and on the regular. Something hard to fathom for those who are under authoritarian rule of any stripe.
Cue: "Mainstream media is for sheepie!!! You're being lied to!!!". From the same folks who hoover up Fox News, one of the most watches channels in the US. They couldn't be any more "mainstream". Ditto for RT et al, and if you're Russian all you're allowed to see "officially" is "Mainstream media".
You're in Prague.? Have you been deployed to Europe? Or have the Ukranians hired you to run their tank training?
I linked a European Council press release rather than the actual text; since the press release mostly uses more readily understood language and also serves to interpret the legalese to some extent.
In any case the text states:
It shall be prohibited for operators to broadcast, or to enable, facilitate or otherwise contribute to broadcast, any content by the legal persons, entities or bodies listed in Annex IX, including through transmission or distribution by any means such as cable, satellite, IP-TV, internet service providers, internet video-sharing platforms or applications, whether new or pre-installed.
I suspect an ISP allowing access to a restricted website which may contain audio and/or video would count as enabling/facilitating/contributing to a broadcast. Also entirely possible the term broadcast itself in this context implicitly includes digital media such as web pages or images.
As you say however the devil is in the details and I have no idea how binding such decisions or directives are in practice.
EDIT: Also I should add that from an eir connection in Dublin I can't access Russia Today sites; nor most Sputnik sites (although some are still accessible such as https://sputniknews.lat/).
Money talks. I'm sure he has some assets in the right places. He'd be a very foolish man if he didn't think Putin getting paranoid and looking to purge the competition wasn't a possibility
How do you avoid your own mines when you advance if launched from artillery.
Because you know the exact location you targeted when you launched them..... or when you advance, you just push through the destroyed Russian tanks!
Perhaps you might take the time to read back. It might sink in.
I think I clearly wrote that Crimea has been a part of an INDEPENDENT Ukraine for a total of 23 years out of 240.
You can't know the exact location of anything fired from artillery. It's accuracy will always have margin of error. Fire out enough of these things and you're in bother keeping track or communicating it to enough people.
Well it's from a HIMARS so a lot more accurate than standard artillery. Still has a margin of error for sure, just smaller.
You can also view them landing via drone if you wanted to make sire. Ukraine have been extremely effective in having a digital battlefield map.
Stands to reason they would include mines. Not the exact GPS coordinate, but certainly they could be marking fields and roads as mined. This is their land, they don't want any civilians injured with their mines, so yes I'm sure they are tracking them.
Why not have a poll then. Hands up anyone who can access the site via a normal browser. Hands up who cannot. rocky and 20wheel stated that they can't.
Who cares?
You're obsessed with RT.... Why?
Do you get paid for clicks to their site or something?
I care about censorship. I care that sites are blocked and the reason given is that they spread lies, propaganda and hate. Now, these are the reasons given for rt.com to be blocked. I asked why stormfront.org wasn't blocked and your answer is that nobody cares. If you can't formulate a cogent analysis, then don't wade in with a jibe.
You're simply using the 2014 - 1991 figure because it suits your purposes better than the more honest 2014 - 1954 figure.
Using your logic, no transitions are ever valid because, by definition, there are points at which they are recent.
Take the partition into India and Pakistan, at what point would you stop saying "sure it's only been like that for a wet weekend" ?
Why don't you email your ISP an ask why RT is blocked and stormfront isn't?
Boards users cannot really comment on your ISP's policies ffs.
Because stormfront.org isn't owned and run by a hostile foreign power which is currently engaged in an expansionist war on European soil?
If it's censorship in general you care about there are probably other hills you could go and die on; why are you so concerned about a joint EU decision to curtail Russian state-owned media?
It's possible if they enforce a blockade. Crimea doesn't cut off Ukraine from the Black Sea. There is a blockade of Yemen and also of Gaza.
Personally I think the Russkis are just nipping a bit, They have failed to take Vuhledar and have been repelled.
