Solis Hybrid has just died

At approximately 3:00PM today my Solis RHI-6K-48ES inverter stopped responding, have checked power from PV, Power from Battery and Power from grid with multi meter and all is good. I have a blank screen with the red power light flicking on every 6 seconds or so.

Any ideas appreciated 😢

Sorry to hear that Lar. At risk of stating the obvious, have you contacted Solis for a warranty repair? Any sign of magic smoke? Any blown MOSFETs etc internally?

Have you tried a full power down, shut off pv, ac and battery and then everything back on.

@Big Lar - sorry to hear. How old is it? Did you buy and install it yourself or did you have an installer supply & install your system? If the latter, contact them to see what they say, the warranty should go via them.

Just checked the warranty docs I got with mine and Solis seems to do a 5 year warranty on them (10 if you buy the extra 5)

I did not witness the inverter going into a Coma so dunno if we had smoke or not, maybe an internal fuse also (Fingers crossed)

No problem says Alex with Solis they will replace the inverter, but they wont be able to send till end of September

So yesterday the replacement inverter landed. However it is the incorrect type, I received a 3 phase inverter 3P6K-HVES-5G whereas my faulty inverter was single phase 6K-48ES-5G.

They are just pure useless to answer the phone and emails seem to get no response, I gave over an hour on the phone yesterday on hold so eventually hung up and this morning 30 mins so far. I am half thinking of putting the three phase inverter on done deal and buying another inverter altogether.

Need some morale guidance here

Well good news, the new inverter arrived today.

No talk of taking anything back so I am just going to waiting and see, the 3P is of no use to me but I will store it for the time being.

Be great thou if I could get the old single phase one repaired as it may be handy down the road.

Got a different model this time also, S5-EH1P6K-L as opposed to the RHI-6K-48ES-5G I had. Dont see any big difference in the spec sheets thou so i wonder if its for another market even thou it had the Irish Grid standard available in the settings

That is one of the S5 "refresh" versions to replace the original RHI 5S hybrid series. Once you get it rigged up (note I think the meter has changed from Acrel to Easton), would you mind checking to see if the 100A -> 70A charge limiting is still in place on that version?

According to the install guide the meter is either/or. Easton meter actually came with it but I said I would leave well enough alone.

Lots of setting for charging the battery, which one should I check
