How do people feel about this one? Will it be short and sweet?

Loueze is way off the mark and I wouldn't like to have someone reporting to me who tried to get their points across in the vicious manner that poster does. I've seen it multiple times before with lower grades who have failed to get promoted in the same competitions as everyone else have to go through. They become bitter at the system and always think they deserve more., They sit around the coffee table moaning about their bosses and colleagues.
If they spent as much time and energy doing their job and working hard to be successful in competitions as they spend slating everyone who walks then they would be in a different position.
Higher than you.
I will, thanks. 👍️
Did we not knock this "Pay rises for all. Skills, performance and productivity be damned" way back in this thread?
Pay increases are not just tied to productivity - in ANY sector.
What grade are you?
I'd imagine you are in your teams corner until they accept the pay deal. You'll have the toys out of the pram then.
I imagine I'll be voting to strike.
First bit of sense you’ve made in the thread.
I’m looking forward to the measures in the budget as well. Apparently they couldn’t stretch as far as the unions wanted because there were already provisions to help out in the budget so they’ll be a nice addition to todays deal.
One thing that should have been agreed is the poxy 2 year rule to apply for internal competitions.
Imagine this a CO can be promoted after passing their probation.
Then who would give two **** about 1 or 2% extra it's the first year that is painful on CO salary.
Anyway I'll be voting reject this 5 weeks wait is just to try and demotivate us.
Just a little reminder of what I have been saying, take this story and repeat for almost every small to medium business in this country, this is going to get bad really bad really quick.

Overall a messy enough situation the country finds itself in.
There is no doubt that again we are heading into difficult financial times however from a selfish point of view, the time to get the increases is when the states income is generally above expectations as we all know that then times go south, pay and conditions will head south with them in a flash and take a decade to unwind - that's why these increasees are needed now - we will no doubt be losing them again one way or another.
I can see that there are issues hiring qualified staff in the Public service for the past few years, this is getting worse - the pay increase will help somewhat but when you look at pay and conditions in certain areas versus private in the same areas they aren't great but then there are other things that are better.
Already answered. Higher than you, so that blows your theory out of the water, doesn't it?
I've reported your first post above as a personal attack, and will report any singling out by you or further posting of that nature as harassment.
If you don't want to read my posts, put me on ignore.
😘
What grade am I?
You mean those same people who voted for croke Park.
I've very little time for people blowing their own trumpet now who agreed to those cuts to begin with.
You obviously don't know what needs to en done with both dper and nsso to implement an increase when you complain about waiting.
If I remember correctly from earlier in this thread, CO, Higher Scale
Go look at some of your own posts on other threads and remind yourself, if you can't remember.
I'm blocking you now, as you're attempting to goad me and make this more and more personal with every post.
You don't have to respect my POV, but I am entitled to my opinion and my vote. After 35 years service, I've earned both.
Unlike you, I have not tried to attack or belittle your experience or your work ethic.
I'm far from alone in my views, others will vote this deal down as well, so don't think you have a slam dunk yet.
How do you know how what way anyone voted in any previous pay dispute?
Making some sweeping generalisations there.
You’ll get more success if you afford people the same courtesy you’re looking for.
This is laughable coming from you - who only joined the thread some way back, to nod your head along with the crowd, and throw a few smart remarks at me from the back of the room?
Maybe practice what you preach.
What a sh*tshow of a thread. If people want to continue squabbling, take it to pm's and spare the rest of us.
You remember incorrectly. I am higher scale, but not a CO.
Apologies, tired from a teething baby in the house!
Your an Ap or a PO
thanks a mil.. so its less than 100 euro per month :(
The majority voted for CP. I rest my case
I'm going to vote yes on the deal when balloted. That 3% back dated will pay for half my winter oil delivery and I was stressing about putting in on my credit card when it would be a while being repaid. I'd obviously prefer a more generous agreement but this will make a decent difference for now.
Apologies, I didn’t realise that I had to be in the thread prior to a certain point to comment.
I have no problem with your stance on the deal and your insistence that it shouldn’t be accepted. However your belittling and dismissive attitude towards those who are happy with it, coupled with the approach of sticking your fingers in your ears and saying ‘I’m not listening to you’ when they try and engage with you is fairly pathetic.
As I’ve said previously I really hope that’s not how you approach management if it’s part of your mysterious grade.
The cuts for new entrants were not part of Croke Park agreement. They were imposed unilaterally prior to CP.
You arent alone to be fair. But this deal will be voted yes without a doubt. People are struggling now , the backdated will sway it.
I don't understand this tone. You're asking people to give up a guaranteed pay increase in the hope of something better that is far from a guarantee. Something better, that probably doesn't have any reasonable path way of being implemented by Winter.
I understand you might not agree with people supporting the deal but telling people they deserve being sh1t upon for a decision made in really difficult circumstances is a bit much. Things could become really crappy this winter. Nobody deserves that.
