Odd commentary. Rapira is a smoothbore anti-tank gun. It can be used for indirect fire in extremis, but is not what it's designed for.
I'd also add that this looks really bad for optics.
Imagine you're an ordinary Russian soldier on the Frontline and you find out the big lads have fcuked off across the river. Not good for morale at all.
There was five massive explosions all within 10 minutes. Could be they realised their c&c ability is shot at current locations and are withdrawing the head honchos to direct from further afield. See no evidence yet of any collapse or retreat with ordinary Russian soldiers yet.
Edit:update
Reports it's the army command.
Saw interesting theory today, nearby nuclear waste storage facility is likely target of this shelling at the nuclear power plant, with aim of damaging/destroying it rather than the operating nuclear power station. This of course would be a radiation incident but at a far more local and lower intensity than the active reactors of the station itself.
However a panic in media after this event would likely spur some form of international intervention at the nuclear power plant, with the aim of bringing in a large artillery range sized dmz possibly protected and enforced by maybe a UN led force. Perhaps the ultimate aim of this is to disrupt the September 11th referendum.
This would massively complicate the Russian military position and give Ukraine valuable time to reorganize/redeploy/train it's forces.
edit: it's not really clear at this point who is obviously attacking that nuclear power plant. Lots of different theories most don't make sense, but I do think that attacking near it but deliberately missing the crucial infrastructure itself with precision weapons is the play here just not sure to what end yet.
Absolutely huge if true, is Kherson about to be liberated ? Massively embarrassing for Putin if it is. The morale boost to the Ukranian forces and vise versa for the Russian murdering bastards could mark a turning point in the war. Also signs that the bastards are planning a false flap operation at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, wouldnt suprise me in the slightest that they would try that should Kherson fall.
Ukrainians build a howitzer from cannibalized Russian parts
Imho amnesty are done
of all the NGOs you would have thought they been the ones to know better of how Putin’s Russia operates
all of their good work undone by tankies or worse useful idiots deliberately cultivated by Kremlin to get to top of organisation like the one of them who still keeps tweeting pro Kremlin propaganda
Good to see Amnesty saying something laudable for once. But as far as I am concerned they will will have to have a really critical assessment of where they stand.
Nothing would surprise me, and here is amnesty
Belarus have been in the war since the start where they have allowed missiles be launched from their territory at Ukraine.
If putin can capture and keep Ukraines territory that is rich in natural resources… then in the long term it’s a massive win for Russia….Russia and Ukraine people will have to suffer in the short term to suffer Russias future wealth… a wealth that will go to a select few of Russias elite
If putin fails to keep the territory then the current system in Russia will collapse… putin was able to stay in power by keeping those around him very rich
Satellite images of a tank explosions at Ziabrovka airfield in Belarus
is Belarus now in this war?
who's a clever boy then! the complexity of using these missiles is something else.
Western electronic surveillance aircraft, such as the RAF’s RC-135W Rivet Joint patrolling over the Black Sea and soaking up radar emissions from southern Ukraine to map the Russian networks, are probably helping in this regard.
Before long Russia will have naff all left. Putin will be remembered as the most disastrous Russian president ever! master strategies... yeeee sure he is.
False flag - literally
Looks like more bridges in the Kherson region hit again. Russians in real danger of getting cut off.
Russian forces without success attempted to advance at Sukhiy Stavok - Lozove, - General Staff of Armed Forces of Ukraine says in the morning report
They had publicly stated they were experimenting with the mulithead icbm as a way to counteract the NATO missile defence shields, but you'd have to wonder, like you said, if their nuclear capabilities are up to scratch anymore. Especially considering the costs of guarding and maintaining existing stockpiles. Nukes are not cheap.
As for nuclear scientists know how when it comes to bombs, these awful basterds of science and war, the tech is over half a century old, surely any semi competent scientist in that field with access to all previous data and research can remake existing designs?
I also suspect that in many cases, rather grimly, Russian bodies are being left to rot on the battlefield. Meaning that there are many soliders who are «missing» or otherwise «on mission and can’t write back now». But in reality they have died and their remains have been abandoned.
I remember watching some early videos where Ukrainian solders were retaking the Irpin area near Kyiv. The video featured long dead Russian soliders lying in the streets. I very much regret seeing that video and the images that are now burned into my mind.
In addition, I’m pondering if they even still have the *technical ability* to follow through on such a order. Given the state of the Cold War tech used by them so far.
Yeah, those Russians are an odd lot. I knew one years ago in Tralee and found them very dissociated. Her upbringing [she was middle class] made her who she was and I just did not trust her one bit, she had absolutely no emotion. No matter what was going on it appeared not to impact her in the least.
Here's a Russian piece of dirt living here spreading Putin's lies and hate...

The EU/Schengen Visa ban seems to be gaining traction. Like with many sanctions, they start as a whisper and soon come about. Hopefully some sort of visa band follows through. Guess individual states can ban entry based solely on security risk and with flights being so limited (mainly Hungary) it's easy to make it difficult for Russian to visit the EU without a full EU ban.
I guess when the Kremlin reacts with nuclear threats when an EU visa ban is mentioned, that means it's the correct decision.
Interesting times for sure,if France doesnt take the pipeline option, there is only LNG terminals as next option i guess.
The advantage of LNG terminals is they they are connected directly to the interconnectors as well,so they can pump it directly from the terminal into the pipeline or storage.
We will see what options they go for
I think oil and gas will be around for many more years to come
block Russians coming to civilised world, let em holiday in Crimea or Tanu Nova or something
“ In the clip, amid a vast expanse of smoldering rubble, a Russian tank fires point-blank at an apartment building that was somehow still standing. Part of the building implodes, adding to the total devastation for miles and miles around. “This was our home,” Kovalevskaya told me when describing the video.
What makes the video so chilling wasn’t just the fact that targeting civilians is a war crime. It’s that the clip bears the unmistakable logo of RT “
savages
I remember reading before that most of Russia (and to some extent the US) arms industry rely on exports. New tech is so expensive, they recoup the cost via exports. Hard for Russia to advance their tech when:
A) Their tech looks second rate vs NATO equivalent (S400 vs 30 year old HIMARS etc...)
B) Sanctions on Russia meaning said equipment may not be able to be supported in the future.
Their inflatable S400's are probably still sanction safe though.
Yea was there not a few times in the cold war system malfunctions and alike. And the people on the ground did not launch. Only to be met after the big red phone shouting don't launch.
loads of figures in article but most startling is collapse of Russian weapons exports and replacement by China
And
Chinese car makers such as Haval have jacked up their prices by 50 percent, while Russia is selling its oil to China at a 35 percent discount.
I'm not even convinced his military command would follow through with a nuclear order.
where is amnesty
