Antigen, can't be self administered.
I've tried to look this up but can't find definitive information so hoping someone here might know or be able to point me in the right direction.
I am travelling to Italy in April. I got my original Jannsen vaccine in July last year so it's out of date now based on the 9 month expiry.
My question is - can I just get a booster a week before I go (if its still a requirement for entry and their green pass), or does it have to be administered a certain amount of time (e.g. 28 days) before the new cert is valid?

Hi all can anyone tell me what you need to enter the US re Covid . My daughter has had the Jansen vaccine. She got Covid the last week of Xmas . She cannot get a booster as it is not within the 3 months window . She has a recovery cert . The advice she is getting is very confusing. Help what else does she need .

It's not confusing. It could barely be simpler. Must be vaccinated, must provide proof of negative test within 24 hours of travel

It also says that if you have a recovery cert you don’t need a test . So does she need a doctors letter as well .
Due to fly to France next week but while the return leg has an “online check in opens on X date..” the first leg just has online check in unavailable. Any ideas?? I even did the stupid VeriFLY thing and green ticks all round but no checkin but family on same flight have an online date.
My mum travel to the States in January. She had covid in November. All she needed was her recovery cert and a letter from her doctor to say she was ok to travel
Is she travelling within the 90 days since she had Covid?

Anyone heard if/when Thailand are due to relax their pre flight and post arrival PCR testing? Are there any other countries in the region who don't have these.
Ready to pull trigger on flights to Puket but the two rounds of testing really put me off. Would be for a family and don't want to take the risk.

They only checked passports in and out of Dublin last month when there was supposed to be restrictions. Annoying since I spent 4 hours on the hotline to get my updated travel cert.
So I see Pfizer are saying a 4th shot is "necessary" , I wonder how long it will be till the EU says you need a 4th shot to travel ?

No the 9 month validity was for the 2 dose regime, no time limit was put on the 3rd dose.
Except no time limit was put on the 2nd shot either until suddenly it was deemed necessary and thrown onto the digital cert to boot.

This is untrue. Data from Israel prompted the first concern about the longevity of the 2nd dose in vulnerable groups which was later replicated across Europe.
Ireland dropped it to accommodate the taking in of refugees from Ukraine. With omicron being the dominant strain resulting in milder illness, coupled with the high vaccine uptake in Ireland, it was the right thing to do. Other EU countries should follow suit.
Except what you're stating is untrue. Boosters are being pushed on all ages of the population from 12 years and up - not vulnerable groups.
Studies produced in the Autumn stated waning 'antibodies' which actually naturally wane over time. Do you think people need to keep getting boosted as some people who received a third shot will have waning antibodies right now? This does not mean you don't have protection. T cell immunity is long lasting and has held up well in all vaccines. Natural immunity is also very effective as per Prof Luke O'Neill on radio Monday.
The fact is we were told it was a two shot vaccine, that is what was trialled and went through the approval process with the EMA and FDA - there were no double blind trials done for a booster dose across all ages of the population.

Anytime the day before is OK for the US. It doesn't have to be within 24 hours of departure.
Well it is relevant as it's quite possible 3rd shot will have an expiry date too, they are already flying the flag of a 4th shot for everyone.
And everything the other poster said was true, so it's not surprising you don't want to "debate"
Whats the story with getting tests?
One of my kids tested positive with home kit. When I went to book a test it says not to unless they are over 55.
How else do you get official docs confirming they had it and recovered (for travel)?

You can still fill in their details and get one, just say you want them to have a recovery cert.
I was in France again last week. Absolutely no checks and everything back to normal. No facemasks (and not like here, they have completely ditched them). The only thing that was different for the trip was wearing a mask on the plane. No mask required in the airport at either end, just on the plane. It was brilliant.
Can you bring an antigen test with you on your flight, to test yourself before returning, we are going to Switzerland tomorrow?
Just to to ensure your aware …. Flying to the states requires a full PCR negative result 1 calendar day before departure day. Antigen won’t cut it with US entry requirements.
Im heading to the states tomorrow morning. Got the PCR test today at the airport for €89. It gave me a result 2 hours after swab. Very professional/friendly service . Randox T2
my parents got an antigen test done when flying to the states and when I asked the pharmacist today, they said an antigen test will do. On the united website it says a PCR or antigen test will be accepted
