What exactly did the FDA vote against, boosters have been approved for all over the age of 12 and allowed for 3rd doses in the 5-11 age group:

I'll withhold judgement on that until we see numbers of deaths for last year..
(I do actually know more people adversely affected by it than have had bad covid..)

The lack of enthusiasm for a booster has been long predicted once you come down below 40. Given that the number of the under 30s remain unvaccinated points to there being even lower numbers there. If cases fall away fast that may also slow down the uptake even more. Still reckon 70% on boosters will be a good achievement.
Push for booster in 20-40 age group to take place next week. Lack of booster enthusiasm in over 30s.

Yes, and it’s needed. Especially in my situation where I’m on immunosuppressive drugs. Only crossing my fingers it works for our cohort at all

I work with someone with a physics PhD who uses Dr professionally but (a) she wouldn't start lecturing people on medical matters she's not qualified in (b) if she did, she would drop the Dr to avoid confusion.

Having worked in healthcare in the US, Dr is the preferred moniker used by both medical doctors and patients. MD tends to follow the name, not proceed it, of course there will be exceptions. In relation to NASA, I doubt there is any confusion over the Dr titles used considering the setting, but I very much doubt physicists would use their title to lend weight to a discussion on healthcare.
Unfortunately it's actually medical doctors (or society) that are miss using the term Doctor or Dr, although this YouTube could be conveniently benefiting from this longstanding miss understanding, in do not know.
I work in the science, engineering industry and we have plenty of Doctors wondering about the place that use their qualification title in most official commications etc.
My first manager in Germany was Dr. Rainer ........., And we always addressed him by this title.
Imagine the going into NASA's offices and giving out to them all for using their Dr titles! (Fair enough, they're not releasing videos on COVID recommendations)
I think in the US the term MD is more common for a medical doctor, maybe it's one thing we should actually carry over from the us.
For the most part I agree, the part I would dispute is the depth of understanding comparison made between a Nurse and a Doctor. It is the reason why though nurses may have a wealth of knowledge about medical matters, they are not permitted to pass themselves off as medical Doctors, nor to prescribe treatments nor medications under licence.
As a regurgitator/explainer of information, Dr Campbell has his place, but his credentials do not make him an authority on the information he presents. I do think he does a public service, my earlier posts were in response to Eddie posting “Look at his credentials” as if they added gravitas to his video casts, they really don’t.
He was very good early in the pandemic at distilling the myriad information circulating into a videocast / podcast that lay people could understand. I guess with his academic / medical / teaching background he was good at explaining the tons of 'science' being thrown at us.
And while he is not a medical doctor I doubt if eg a typical retired doctor would have any deeper understanding than he does. I think he went down a rabbit hole with Ivermectin but thats a different thread and some medical doctors went along with him.
Havent watched him for long while now - would be curious what his take on boosters is given he has hundreds of millions of youtube views.
