When do people think life will go back 100% to how it was pre pandemic. No masks, everything normal, nobody thinking of covid like it was with the flu.. nightclubs full etc
Based on the Israel data about 2 months after the boosters are rolled out.
Plus the antivirals which are showing great promise.
How does Valentine's Day sound, or St. Brigid's Day
Quite extraordinary all right.
The gas thing is that while all attempts are made to avoid death at all costs (covid death, I mean) the country is dead. Morally bankrupt, a spiritual desert, culture has been trashed, no values. And a lot of it happened pre-covid.
The first modern law in Europe for the regulating of drugs was the Pharmacy Act 1868 in the United Kingdom.
It's 2021 now and gangs sell drugs instead of licensed businesses. It's hard to imagine a greater failure.
Maybe covid19 restrictions will be similar and continue for another 152 years? I hope not.
If it continues, I can't see why Google/ Facebook et al wouldn't leave for cheaper labour. It's grand if you're a government employee that doesn't have to do anything but can't see it being very attractive to corporations...
Source?
We have 93% fully vaccinated. If we had intentions of going back to normal we would have done it already.
It's likely that nonsense such as masks and certs and almost mandatory boosters are here to stay.
And we'll probably use the pandemic as an excuse to try and destroy the supposed drink culture.
its not, what do class as young nearly 99% deaths have underlying conditions and are over 65
Not anymore, see the article I linked earlier in the thread
Not for a long time as this nation lives in abject terror of covid. Boris last July declared that as a nation they would face covid head on. They are in a better place than us because its lead to large portions of the population developing natural immunity.
50% of no-shows for boosters suggest we could soon be following the the Austrian model of tyrany and medical enslavement
and what's the excuse for all the deaths last week and not one unvaccinated
A single data point never tells a story.
You need to look at the data over an extended period otherwise its like saying one day last summer was 25 degrees which must mean the whole summer was that temperature
no ****
Glad you agree that focusing on a single data point is, well, pointless
I suspect 17th of August 2022 however it could push out to the 14th of September 2022...it's a hard one to call
We'd still have some attractive qualities..EU, English speaking, corp tax, stable govt (relatively speaking) who are sympathetic to FDI.
We seem to be turning the corner again? so what happens when we start moving around again when everyone has the booster will it all be grand?
Tony Holohan made a brillent point last week, everyone in ICU with covid is there because of an entirely preventable virus. That is not blaming those who got it and ended up in ICU but it's a stark reminder of what is going on.
They are not there because of the aftermath of a transplant or a heart operation or a cancer operation or an accident the normal reasons why people are in ICU.
How is Covid entirely preventable? Unless you locked yourself away from the world and everyone in it?
Many cancers and heart diseases are also entirely preventable. More so than covod, even, because cigarettes aren't invisible.
Life is back to normal in the UK. Will definitely be considering a move there, if we're still in the same place this time next year.
Todays corona poster boy (Israel atm) is tomorrows basket case. Rinse and repeat. We've been best in class once our twice ourselves, however briefly. Its been like this from the start.
Sick of this sh1t. Just let it fkn run and be done with it like England. What we've done to society, economy and everything is far worse already than covid could ever have been.
It seems pretty much everyone in the EU with university education has English. Corporate tax rising to 15%.
Estonia looks great.
Maybe companies might think twice about locating in a small island not connected to mainland Europe where the employees all talk about the 'numbers' and want to work at home...
NO cancer is ‘entirely’ preventable, no heart disease either...you can lower the risk factors only.
you can engage in a lifestyle that lessens your chance of developing these conditions... I know of one non smoker who died of lung cancer. My cousin last year, he was 52.
you can get lung cancer having never smoked a day in your life...
researching it....
15% of male lung cancer patients are never smokers.
45% of female lung cancer patients are never smokers.
my grandfather died at I think 52.. massive heart attack, non smoker, non drinker... in fact he was a pioneer all his life...
Humanitarian of the day award.
UK has hit 1000 deaths a week, what was it Boris said, “let the bodies pile high”?
If you “let it fkn run”, are you hoping for a sprint or a marathon? Or do you just want to eradicate the elderly, vulnerable and the unvaccinated?
If your child needed an ICU bed during the “run”, will your flippant attitude hold?
1000 deaths in a week in the UK ? In a fully socially / economically opened UK ? No masks or number hysteria madness?
Pro rata Uk - Ireland … So divide 1000 deaths by 10 = 100 deaths
Last week Ireland had nearly 80 deaths
If I was a young person 18-35 years with no kids then id be on a plane in the morning to soak up 100% normality again.
Ireland is completely goosed
18th of July, Covid ended, Galway got liberated from Indians, Marathon changed it's name to Snickers
Yes,the UK,that's who we need to look to.
They're doing a great job on Covid and on all other fronts these days.
Never, you can no more go back to 2019 than you can to 1970. Somethings may go back, but in many cases the changes are permanent.
You missed the point.
Normality in the UK? My daughter and her bf are still working from home.
Plus are people for reall blaming those in ICU with cancer or heart issues for being there.
