RTE's new 8 episode gangland drama with an all star cast.
AMC start date is September 9th I can't see a start date for RTE just a coming soon.
RTE are skint apparently
FYP
I still don't think Mikey really killed Anna's mother
From the preview that played after the episode on Sunday night, seems Amanda meets Hinds in a vip lounge In dublin airport. So nobody is getting shot at this get together.
clutching at straws ......
Im offended at the fact that he wears glasses !!
theres no need for that like.
Where do we see the potential 2nd series going if, as expected, Amanda takes out Eamon?
He (Francis Magee) speaks the Dublin argot pretty well considering he's Manx. Some Irish born and reared cast members are less competent in this regard.
i Too thought he was Phelim drew for a minute
in order to single out one teenager in a school, I’d imagine you would need to lurk like a paedo for quite a while and probably arouse suspicion
I think he's now riled up and will be a loose canon. So he's probably going to balls something up big time.
Valid points!
However why the need to make him gay, especially considering him having a son is part of the story line (I appreciate in real life that there are plenty of gay men who have biological children and previous hetero relationships).
Could they not have portrayed his weakness in a different way? There are plenty of "weak" straight guys.
Making him gay just seems to a lazy way for the scriptwriters to belittle him. The material is school yard bully stuff from 20 years ago.
Do you reckon there was some foreshadowing when Frank hammered yer man who looked at him when walking out of the prison? Bren had just told him he never got his hands dirty.
I didn't frame it very properly, but yes, it really almost feels homophobic. 🤣
I thought he was great! Probably the most realistic tbh
Well there are black gardai, so if one isn't a detective yet, (I don't know) it's only a matter of time. There are Chinese, eastern europeans, black people and even travellers in AGS.
And the girl playing the solicitor is an actor.......
Am I the only one who didn't really like the Bren character? I thought he was a little OTT.
I mean, the whole thing is OTT, even Hinds, but Bren seemed especially OTT.
Have you no shame 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
the sucking cock one ?
Try ringing some of them so, there are plenty.
And she clearly is an actor, she is acting in this, and a quick Google tells me she is an actor. It's the very first result. 🙄
Very much so for me. I had to go back and rewind to see who they shot at the start of last night's episode, I really thought it was one of the brothers when I saw it first time round.
I think the Nikita character's acting is relatively fine, no better or worse than some of the more experienced actors on the show.
Anna - I'll say no more at this stage.
But she's not an actor is she.
I live in Dublin, however, if I needed a nurse, detective, solicitor and psychologist and I rang them up, the chances of them all being black are 0.00000000%
Nikita, Kem and Anna are all black.
Yeah sure, all teenagers are monotone. They say fcuk you Michael in the same tone as I'll have orange juice.
many singers are actors as well.
you're a little bit obsessed with 'box ticking' like I said before you clearly don't live in Dublin if you don't see black people 🙄
The acting isn't bad at all, all teenagers are monotone, dead eyed, unresponsive small adults, in real life.
Do all men with beards look the same to some people?
Had it been him v Eamon in this show we would have had classic on our hands
proper menacing scumbag as the head of a family would be
not a "hairdresser"
As mentioned above, the acting from Anna is particularly poor. She was way too calm for someone who was just nearly kidnapped and put into a car.
I also didn’t find the son in boarding school’s acting convincing either. I couldn’t tell if he was laughing or crying.
Her name is there. Loah is just her stage name, real name is Sallay Garnett.
Anna happy.
Anna sad ....
Anna terrified
haha yeah, imagine a child being that calm after nearly being kidnapped and murdered. Weird that she wasnt directed to be act more traumatised.
I'm a Dub and Id agree with that - windy is often used to mean cowardly/not able to defend yourself.
About the sexuality thing, they're not sympathetic characters that are linking Frank's homosexuality to weakness as a leader. Their use of negative stereotypes could also be intended as a representation of their flaws.
Poor acting from Anna . Didn’t look scared after being nearly put in a boot of a car
