RTE's new 8 episode gangland drama with an all star cast.
AMC start date is September 9th I can't see a start date for RTE just a coming soon.
Ah! knew i recognised him.
The dude in prison stole the series, and he was only on for 5mins.
I think she looked amazing in those pants!.
Acting and storyline is pants too ...
I was thinking it was her, but when I looked at credits I didn’t see her name. Her singing name is ‘Loah’ or something so guess she used her real name in this. I never heard of her till that Una Healy show.
the music stood out as odd, then i saw David holmes in the credits , he'd be expensive.
Of course there was, but boxes need to be ticked!
The solicitor isn't even an actor...she's a singer. Some may have recognised her as one of the presenters with Una Healy on "The Heart of Saturday Night" during the summer.
I finally sussed out why they have the annoying caper-style music playing throughout. They have tried to copy the music style from Succession. Unfortunately it just doesn’t work in this show.
I've been enjoying it in sort of an "I know it's not great but I'm watching it anyway" way but some of the acting and dialogue in the last episode was pretty awful. Like when Amanda says "I don't give a f**kin' sh*t". I mean, it didn't sound right or natural, it sounded like someone wrote it the way they think working class Dubs speak. There's been loads of examples of that.
Story-wise, so Con just shows up at the school to threaten Anthony, and no one stops him or asks him who he is? No teachers around or staff?
Anyway. I feel Jimmy / Emmett Scanlan's role is being pushed further and further back to just being a bit part; from it being like he was going to be the main character in the first few episodes, he doesn't do much now except sit there looking sullen.
Why does Eamonn live in a hotel?
Dublin still looks nice in it though.
The actors playing Anna and Nikita are brutal, with the former being far worse than the already poor latter. There has to be a good half a dozen alternative candidates who would have wiped the floor with them in terms of performances.
the child?
Anna is a brutal actor though. Very wooden.
christ man it's 2021
what's the point in robbing them if nobody knew who did it?
Has its ups and downs. By far the worst thing about the show is Anna's woeful acting.
She delivers her lines as if it were her first time seeing them on paper. Her facial expressions are more static than the Aviva stadium. Didn't help with one scene last episode her character was speaking in shot but her mouth wasn't even moving. Maybe they needed a re-read after an even worse in-person performance.
It's not a cameo, she's a significant character and I can't focus on the story when she's around. Had hoped Michael would leave her be for her safety and the shows' credibility.
Look. A blind man could see that she needs to lose a few pounds. Anyway different strokes for different folks.
Just catching up on the last few episodes. Why didn't they just kill Cunningham's right hand man when they were robbing the drugs? The only way they were found out was because he was left to tell the tale.
Bren also said something else which I won't repeat, one of the best lines in the entire series 😏
Well I'm a Dub and I took it in this instance to mean a coward.
It's an expression my mam would use.
I'll be honest I do see the point that a previous poster was making about Frank being gay is almost homophobic. His sexuality and weakness of character are continually being linked together. Even Bren calling him a hairdresser an occupation that a few years ago if you were male it was assumed you must be gay, a fairly "feminine"* gay at that.
* I've no idea the correct way to describe that , just take it at face value that no offence was meant.
I never heard of that. Maybe that turns the story a little: so Frank isn’t being accused by Bren of being full of sh*te, more that he’s being told that he’s a cowardly/useless sh^te.
That was how I took it too!
Jaaaaaazus when I was in Chicago, mee "Bollix we're frozen Stiff"
So to speak 😁
The over Analysis of this Series is Bemusing when there are really only a small number of fundamental points to consider
A. Has it been any good : NO
B. Is the Script believable : NO
C. Is it representative of a Typical Dublin Crime Family: NO
D. Has it been painfully dragged out :YES
E. What about the Cast Generally: Dreadful
F. Is it trying to tick the diversity box: Painfully and farcically Yes.
G. Are the critisms fair: When numerous poster's observe to same ludicrous flaws, absolutely YES.
H. Will it have an international Audience: Highly unlikely.
G. Why did AMC finance this Shyte: One of life's biggest mystery.
K. Will AMC regret being involved: Highly likely.
That's another definition of it...... Chicago Windy City..... politicians were full of hot air.
Dare devils accent is more believable than the Irish ones
No windy here is scared/frightened.
According to Collins Dictionary it's old British slang.
I'm a Dub and my understanding was it means "Full of Shtye" so to speak.
I got told by a proper Dub that a ‘windy c*nt’ didn’t mean (as I thought) that he was full of bullsh*t, more that he was a cowardly git. Any thoughts on that? I assumed windy meant full of gas, like a big spoofer.
No mention of Kem, sure add that to the other hairdresser-load of plot holes.
A euro says the chap from Bachelor's Walk plays a bigger role the season finale. His son was nearly killed, and a few lines here or there (e.g. "this is on you, you gave the drugs away") shows Eamon might be thinking of punishing him as well.
Charlie was great in Daredevil
Get a grip on yourself.
No, wait, I'm certain thats your hobby anyway.
For the record, she was a smoker in those pants.
