You are assuming they were vaccinated, and perhaps that the posters could not have infected others that he is unaware of.
Jeez, I don't know what to say buddy. The best would be to saddle up your horse and off you trot back to London. Staying in Ireland is definitely not healthy for you.
Your quite dramatic tbh.
maybe relax and take a break from the internet.
And?
Only way to truly prevent that is to shut society down entirely.
These vaccines don't prevent transmission so... tell me how you eradicate all deaths from covid?
I was just talking about that case where the stupid unvaccinated son gave his vaccinated parents covid. just say one of his parents died, was it really worth the risk? id say he would be very popular in the family after that one. You know Jimmy, who? the lad who didn't get vaccinated and gave his parents covid, one of them died from it. oh yeah, that clown.
You only need to read the tenor of a few responses here to see that it's not just a few medics.
There is a lot of talk on this thread about vaccinated people transmitting the virus in the same way that unvaccinated people.
Read this: https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-02187-1
First, only a small proportion of vaccinated people will become infected with Covid (even Delta).
Second, of those people, all the signs are that vaccinated people who get infected will remain infectious for a much shorter period than unvaccinated people.
Who said the "same way"?
Thats just scaremongering and what aboutery.
If they were vaccinated and still died, then it's bad luck and imo the vaccines fault.
Johnny could have been vaccinated and still given it to his folks.
Man you should have known starting a thread like this on boards is only gonna go one way. You'll be insulted, abused and ostracized. You can't seem to have any reasonable debate around this. You're automatically called an idiot or knuckle dragger. Even I'll probably get attacked for just pointing it out. Just shows the way society has headed. Any deviation for the narrative and you're immediately attacked..
If I didnt bother to get the vaccine, got covid and passed it to my vaccinated parents. one or both of them died. I would have no family left because I would be disowned by the rest of the family. id say this would be similar in many families.
some people on here are trying to imply that the vaccine doesn't stop spread at all which it very untrue.
If it’s his choice to not get vaccinated, then shouldn’t it be the medical professionals choice not to have to risk their health treating him should he get a bad dose of covid… after all it was his choice not to get vaccinated as he clearly knows more than them anyways …
Considering that the evidence of a severe case of death being a possibility for the vulnerable is not just anecdotal, are you surprised that the subject is emotive? Very few of us do not come in contact with people with medical issues at some time during our day. Personally I am in favour of personal choice, but I believe those who refuse the vaccine have to accept responsibility for the implications if they arise, and accept that restrictions are going to be placed on their movements.
Can your posts just be marked with an "The opposite is actually true" message at this stage? I mean, you don't engage when people point out all your lying you just repeat lies on other threads. It's pathetic.
The problem is that not getting vaccinated is unreasonable so what kind of reasonable debate are you expecting? Can you have a reasonable debate about people choosing not to wear a seatbelt while driving? No, the vast majority of people would say “cop on - just put on your seatbelt”.
Someone just called people wearing mask gimps.
The "poor me" narrative doesn't hold here. The anti vaxxers are the most vocal in their insults.
She’s just O’Bumbling. Don’t mind her. It’s her thing.
I know one particular 38 year old person who hass ended up with partial vision loss following vaccination but let's not talk about that because thankfully such cases are rare.
So not true, the vaccine reduces transmission rates significantly and reduces the symptoms if people get infected with SARS-COV2 significantly (even the delta variant). It doesn't stop all cases but reduces it enough so a R0 of less than 1 is achievable.
We have only just in the last 6 weeks started to vaccinate the groups that spread the virus the most, it will take time for this to trickle through to case numbers but it is happening even as socialising started up again.
Imagine how his parents might feel if he ended up with a life changing adverse reaction after taking a vaccination just to protect them?
With measles at an older age you're highly likely to have severe symptoms and complications (20% end up in hospital). The measles vaccine also lasts a lifetime so you took a risk with an easily preventable disease and are no better off than anyone else who had the vaccine.
The same people in here who are not getting the vaccine are the same people who were whining about lockdowns. (30 seconds of looking through post histories will show you that.) The vaccine greatly reduces the transmission rate, thereby greatly reducing the possibility of another lockdown. The vaccine is therefore of great benefit even for that reason alone, and yet you're still refusing to take it and expecting everyone else to instead take it for your sake so that lockdowns don't happen again, i.e. you are being nothing but selfish.
Fair enough but not being obese, old or having under lying conditions doesn't make you immune.
Because you're less likely to get it and less likely to pass it on if you do. When you get infected, you'll also have much reduced symptoms (mostly none) vs. if you didn't get the vaccine.
The vaccines reduce transmission, there are multiple studies backing this up, anyone saying otherwise is a complete and utter dribbling imbecile.
Imagine the effects if they had contracted COVID without a vaccine (but this is a pattern and I doubt any of your stories are true as it seems to be a different one on each thread)
Beyond the benefits for society as a whole of getting the vaccine. With Delta variant being so transmissible your chance of long covid increases. I know people with long covid who are 30, fit, not obese and to say they're knackered is an understatement. It's not worth the risk imo
This thread needs to go to the conspiracy forum.
Sadly my 'story' is very true. The doctors treating my friend have reported it as a possible adverse reaction.
I also know someone who had a heart attack within a day of a AZ vaccine.
My 89 year old father in law died with COVID after contracting it while in a hospice terminally ill.
Show me where my stories are different?
Some of the responses here are quite depressing.
There are some bad decisions being made on the basis of poor understanding.
Immune system. Just because you are young does not mean you are invincible. Just because you've had other diseases that your body fought off, doesn't mean you are ready for fighting covid. It really can be the toss of a coin.
Underlying Health factors. Most people don't know they have any.
The most mystifying response I have seen here is the person comparing the requirement to get it in the same category as the flu jab. I cannot believe that a year and a half into this people are still repeating this nonsense.
Bottom line is that many super fit and healthy people have contracted a bad dose of covid and were left wondering whether they would come out the other side of ICU. For those not in ICU or hospitalised being at home, isolated, antagonised by steroids on your second or third dose of antibiotics and struggling for breath after walking 10 feet is enough of an experience to warn others.
The worrying side of a large number remaining unvaccinated is the different variants that will be coming at us down the line. Is it just a matter of time before we create a mutation that has the escape skills of Houdini ?
Unfortunately the trend in the US is towards more young people being hospitalised.
Make your decision OP but do it for the right reasons.
Lets panic about any story about an unvaccinated person transmitting COVID but dismiss any mention of adverse effects.
Both are real, both are happening and that is why people should be free to make their own choices without coercion and ridicule.
