It's bullsh1t like everything else that comes out of there. It's likely they'll now be fumbling for supply as they try to do 2nd doses just as vaccine nationalism takes hold in their #1 supplier, the EU. They don't have them to give away.

Have we not learned anything over the past few years from Westminster?

And I'm being unfair to label the EU's intended actions as nationalism as they there does seem to be a large degree of fairness to it.

According to that article “Easter will be when we might be able to start offering vaccines to Ireland”. Would be hard to imagine that they export any vaccines to us before they fully vaccinate their own.

Amazing news if true, though of course it is all dependent on when they can be delivered.

If they're going to wait until they've vaccinated their own people first then it's little use to us, as we'll likely also have a surplus of vaccines by then.

However, if they're prepared to give them to us within the next 4-6 weeks that would be a major shot in the arm to our vaccine program, if you'll pardon the pun.

It's kinda what Russia have been doing. Not that I'd be complaining about countries using vaccines for political reasons, as long as I can benefit!

IF this is true, it is a very, very clever political ploy by Boris. Offer the Irish vaccines, an EU member, and the EU can't get quite as pissed that the UK is hoarding vaccines for itself.

Probably to stop a mass influx of unvaccinated people when they open up and we're still in the neverending lockdown. Common travel area means if we are vaccinated and they are vaccinated it makes movement a bit easier.

Update : as of the Govt portal , 24/03 is now the best day for vaccinations ( data only went up about 90 mins ago )
