How many people on Boards have a mask and if so are you wearing them for essential trips? And this late in the day where can you get one that is going to be half decent and not from a suspect seller who could have done anything to it?

I don't think the ear saver would help so much though with glasses fogging up.
If this creates a seal around the bridge of the nose (more than you can get with the metal strip) it could help with that.

If it seals, I agree, be great for glasses. But unless it's glued to your face i can't see how it could create a seal from your nose to cheek, even in the pictures there's a gap. They've stuck the mask to the models face

It's making absolutely no difference to the mask around the cheek bone, where glasses fog up.

Other than the foggy glasses claim it doesn't do anything else. If it was that good I don't think it'd be on kick-starter either, be 1000 euro for first order of 2000, don't need kick-starter to order plastic from China.

For anyone looking for masks I found good value on the regatta site. They have the muffs which are handy if you are in and out of shops a lot as no need to keep taking them off constantly..

If somebody claims that they're exempt from the guidelines because of a medical condition how do the shop staff or Gardai verify this, are they going to phone the GP of every customer who claims this? I don't think staff or even Gardai want all the hassle of that.

The anti maskers who call mask wearers sheep always seem to parrot out the same lines about "well a mask is worse cos you're always touching your face". I've been wearing a mask to work for months...I've never touched my face.

If you take public transport the guards can ask you to produce a letter from GP as to why you are exempt or to produce letter at your local station .
I can’t imagine shop staff looking for Proof all they can do is ask someone to put on a mask and hope people don’t take the piss ..

In Dunnes Stores this morning. 100% of customers wearing masks, as were any staff not behind screens.

Eight people in the petrol station/Spar shop and I was the only one wearing a mask.

Didn't you know that Covid19 is generated spontaneously on the face of mask wearers, and only mask wearers. They are wandering around happily covid free, pop out to the shops and by putting the mask on the virus transports from a lab in China to appear on their cheek waiting for the moment that they take the mask off and then scratch their nose which results in them being infected. Doesn't matter if they encounter anyone else when out and about, it's the mask that tells the virus who to infect.

I heard that too. It was on my favourite Facebook group Fake News Sucks. I have no idea who is behind the group, but they seem a lot more trustworthy than the fake news journalists.

If someone is having that much difficulty breathing with a mask on then how are they normally managing to breath without a ventilator?
People with some extreme anxiety about masks I can understand, but would have thought getting on public transport with other people would cause similar issues in that case so again why would they be out and about on a bus if that was the issue?

I have thought the same tbh. I'm an anxious person so I walk to work to avoid buses...only take a 5 minute socially distanced train ride. Going to be a lot of people with anxiety, ashmtha etc popping up shortly. Kind of insulting to those with those conditions who may be infected by these lazy, selfish people. Never mind.

I had someone tell me he won’t have to wear a mask as he is claustrophobic and GP will give him a letter.

There are plenty of people with asthma who've said they have no problems wearing masks. I think that particular cohort of people is more likely to be pro-mask because they are at risk.

I'm asthmatic, amongst other things, but zero problem wearing a mask. Have seen people claiming elsewhere to be "severely asthmatic" such that on putting a mask on for 5 minutes they then had to use their inhaler as it was so traumatic.

Clearly never been told how to use their inhalers correctly, or have any even slight understanding of what a case of "severe asthma" actually is... but they will go around using it as an excuse to not wear a mask.

Just seen a post online from a Diabetes charity who have apparently had people asking them if diabetics are exempt from wearing masks.

Next there will be people looking for an exemption due to having stubbed their toe last week.

If you pay outside no but if you go into the shop it's retail. Yeah, saw a few yesterday coming out with no masks.

This is version 3 of a simple concept, to increase the effectiveness of surgical masks and even diy facecoverings. I think it looks very tenticle like but there is simple nothing piss takey, muzzley or stupid looking about it or a person wearing any sort of face covering during a pandemic.

The glasses not fogging up was pure bonus, the objective was to help improve the seal for surgical mask wearer's. It's rubber not plastic and it's being manufactured in USA not China.

Yes product is going to vary as face size varies, so it's not going to fit every face but here we have people trying to problem solve the shortage of n95's and the crappiness with which surgical masks are designed, I applaud that. The product will do more good than harm and fair play to people willing to chuck them the price of a 6pack.
