Maybe it's demographics.
On my wandering around I haven't seen widespread confusion in the use of masks. And it's only something that even the most confused will figure out as time goes by.

There’s a protest outside GPO today against mandatory wearing of masks! It will probably take direct suffering from Covid-19 before these people will accept that it is a virus that can be easily passed on and that can kill.

I’m all for freedom of speech, freedom of expression and protecting human rights but there is a responsibility on everyone to protect themselves and protect others. Attending a mass gathering to advocate non wearing of masks is to me is extremely irresponsible. Those with a disability could be considered to fall into the underlying conditions category and should be extra careful to protect themselves.

Paramedics would know that wearing masks does not cause loss of conciousness.

So you are sugesting masks cause loss of conciousness. Well that is rubbish. What other medical conditions did the person have? Were they brought to hospital? If yes what was the outcome? Are they on medication?

Masks do not cause loss of conciousness otherwise the amount of HCW passing out would be huge and a regular occurence worldwide.

The fact I am related to 3 paramedics who laughed when I told them what you wrote or the fact that I am a nurse who has worked closely with paramedics over the years and have also worn masks of various types over that time and never once passed out or seen or heard of other HCW passing out
