Yeah, I see that too and I make a point to avoid it all as best I can, especially busy aisles. I don't think staff are a problem as there have been tiny numbers of cases out of retail since it started. In reality it doesn't seem much of a risky location overall, even with that type of behaviour going on.

Retail workers tend to be younger. Younger people tend to be asymptomatic in far higher numbers. It can be up to 80% in some age groups, decreasing as age increases. So the likelihood is that there have been far more workers affected than they actually realize.

A major problem with these small town meetings etc and this has been the case for a long time, is that the only group that is able to mobilise people to attend and attend small votes is the NRA. So in this instance, you'll have a higher percentage of NRA/Quackery/Alt-right types showing up as they always have done.

First off, I don't think they're bitching. Secondly, as a nation we have done a good job of flattening the curve and reducing spread.

Florida on the other hand, is on the way up. Clearly a lack of measures in place is going to cause this to get a lot worse, wearing face masks is one way to slow the spread but obviously "muh freedoms" take precedence over common sense.

"muh freedoms" are the most important thing there is.
If you don't get that, there is no point explaining so lets stick to covid.

consider they are getting 30,000 test results back a day now.
In May it was 10,000 - with so many people with little or no symptoms a rise is to be expected.

given the number of asymptomatic people there are...the real measure of how bad it is , would be hospitalisation or death

as I shown, deaths aren't that bad. Per head we are a lot worse.

Probably been asked and answered before but why aren't supermarket workers wearing masks?,i've been shopping each week the past 4 months in Tesco and Supervalu and i've never seen a staff member wearing one in either of them,i spend less than 30 minutes in a supermarket once a week and they are saying i should wear a mask,but workers who spend hours in there each day dont have to wear one?

So where do we think Ireland and the UK would be now if face coverings (of any kind) had been made compulsory in March, or even April? About the same amount of cases and deaths? Half? Or a world class example in how to beat Covid? I mention the UK as not only do I live here but it's probably a pretty good case study on Ireland's doorstep considering its size, population, and woeful response to this pandemic.

Why are some people (the majority, unfortunately) so precious about wearing face coverings? I have anxiety which affects my breathing and so wearing a mask isn't ideal but it's more ideal than dying or passing it onto a family member or hell a stranger who might die. I don't wear it outside but where are people wearing it indoors at the moment? Is the supermarket shop that exciting that you can't have it ruined by a covering? Madness. These people have not only resulted in needless deaths but also severe economic damage as the country closed down rather than give the public a kick up the arse.

Yes, I think this is the real reason. They couldn't answer the question I asked of them because they know they will sound very bad and selfish, "I won't wear a mask because I really don't care about old people or patients going through cancer".

Was shopping today for the first time in over three weeks. Pleasantly surprised that over 75% of customers in Dunnes Stores were wearing masks. A couple of the more elderly people had them under their noses and I was so tempted to tell them they needed to cover the nose, but then they'd be handling the masks to adjust them.
