You should try your hand at interpreting the time lapse footage of the Earth moving around the Sun where the stars change position from left to right of the central Sun due to the orbital motion of the Earth -https://sol24.net/data/html/SOHO/C3/96H/VIDEO/https://www.theplanetstoday.com/ Within a few weeks, the planet Mercury will be seen moving between the stationary Sun and slower moving Earth and that is a prediction you won't hear anywhere else. That is what it means to be a true prophet, magician or astronomer.

Dohnjoe wrote: » Astronomy is nothing to do with "magic" or "prophecy". In relation to this subject, some people believes the "mark of the beast" passage is a prophecy or a warning from the bible about modern technology It's obviously just a line in a book written by someone, it doesn't refer to anything 2k years in the future, because we all lack the supernatural ability to "see" into the future.
one world order wrote: » Unless the holy spirit gives someone a glimpse of the future like in the book of revelation.
Dohnjoe wrote: » There have been several thousand deities, spirits, gods, whatever. Human beings have a tendency to fabricate them in order to address complex questions and issues If people want to believe in these things, that's fine, but believing in something doesn't mean it exists. If it did, then Santa Claus would exist. Keeping that in mind, claiming X spirit did Y is meaningless in any logical sense if it can't be supported or demonstrated properly
one world order wrote: » Big difference between Santa Claus and Jesus Christ. Even in today's world people still have the power to cast out demons in his name.

King Mob wrote: » It's relevant and I keep bringing it up because people used to claim that barcodes were the mark of the beast and a sign that the end times were coming. Your belief is exactly the same, just with different technology. You can't seem to explain why your belief is superior or substantially different, so bringing up barcodes is an effective way to highlight the silliness of claiming things about the mark of the beast. Sure. And your belief in the mark of the beast is not shared by millions. It's a fringe belief not shared by many people at all. But it's not my opinion, it's a fact. There's no such thing as supernatural prophesies. Much like how there's no such thing as fairies or magic. These are things that only exist in fantasy.
Dohnjoe wrote: » True, Jesus Christ actually existed. But keep in mind he was a normal person, he didn't have X-Men like powers, that's all a figment of someone's imagination, like demons, and the "holy spirit", and Santa Claus If someone is referring to a passage in the bible, like the "mark of the beast" one, it refers to whomever came up with that line at the moment, or however many translations of it there have been. At no point did it ever refer to future technology that no one knew about.
[Deleted User] wrote: » It's neither a conservative or Christian viewpoint that pushes this mark of the beast stuff. It's conspiracy theories. Eg basically every US president for the twenty years has been assumed to be the antichrist. As in exorcisms? That's psychological abuse that has resulted in the death of plenty of people. Schizophrenia, bipolar etc and other explicable conditions have been treated as possession by exorcists. So no, it has not been used to cast out any demon.
oriel36 wrote: » Mediocrity is reactions, slogans, stock phrases and generally the inability to be considerate whether Christian or non-Christian. So the Book of Revelation maintains it's silence in those who are sullen and that is the way it always will be.
pearcider wrote: » The Book of Revelation is canon. If you are a Christian then you believe that Jesus will come to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. Furthermore you believe in Satan and that his empire upon a Earth will be destroyed. Jesus said you will know neither the day nor the hour but you will know the season. Witnessing the great falling away from the Faith in the past generation is clear evidence amongst many other signs that we approach the end of the age.

It is Christianity that has led to the development of the human race and science itself. These atheists wouldn't believe how cruel and heartless the world was before Jesus and the followers of Christ like Paul began to slowly change it. The Renaissance and the scientific revolution began in countries that were devoutly Christian not in pagan China or in the Ottoman Empire. But these atheists would cut off their own nose to spite their face.

Afterall, any other lifeform would be deemed a sky'god' by defualt. inc. coming down from the sky, clouds, if it were to have any subtle influence and contact here since the origins of time. The only counter argument to the likelyhood of other life is that of logistics. But 'gods' they certianly would be.
