I'm hoping they present their own plan, and detailed timeline, on how they're going to source testing kits, reagents, ramp up contact tracing so that we, the public, can then work in tandem to these proposals. We can do our bit but what about them doing theirs?

I am not calling for an opening up of our economy, but I find it hard to believe there would be almost no difference to us whether our internal economy is shut down or not. No difference in having over a million people dependent on social welfare handouts etc.

Now they’re saying they’re allowing them out for one hour’s exercise and passing that off as lifting some of the restrictions and giving us something back, bit it was never a restriction in the first place!!
Restricting the general public from going outside for short periods to allow older people “cocooning” to leave their homes for exercise is under consideration by the expert group advising the Government on measures to combat the spread of coronavirus.

The reports since then have shown it to be further decreasing, the last figures I saw were around 0.4 or 0.5, it could be lower than that now. So for 2.5 weeks our reported values have been in the target zone and decreasing. If the R0 value relates to approx. 1.5 weeks before it was published like that report suggests, then we've been in the target zone and decreasing for around 4 weeks. The HSE can get ****ed, we've done our bit. Time to save lives now by avoiding a social and economic disaster.
