The same governments asking us to stay in lockdown now will be the ones hitting us hard with austerity budgets to pay the bill. The banks giving you a pay holiday now will be taken your house a year or so down the line if you don’t pay them back. For most people, this country never fully recovered from 2008. The recession and austerity budgets that lie ahead will lead to way more deaths than Covid 19. That’s without even mentioning all the people that have currently had important medical appointments cancelled. Restrictions are fine. Lockdown is not.

Any wonder why people are getting slightly annoyed regarding mixed messages ?

Which is fine. You can't keep everyone happy all of the time, or even some of the time. Restrictions will slowly be eased over the next 6 -12 months after that coupled with continued reviews based on bed and ICU capacity. Some companies will continue with their own policies stricter than those from the state based on health and safety and business needs. Some industries will be decimated in the short term, the country will borrow vast sums of money, people will get sick. People will die. Very little of any of the above can I control.

Most people won't accept that, they need a plan of action and not just the usual line "that we'll evaluate the situation in another 2 weeks" that's simply not good enough.
