I wonder why everyone is gravitating towards Italy all of a sudden when they were the worst at 1 stage is it because they mentioned pubs been opened quickly. What have other countries said about them.

Look I agree stuff needs to be eased by next Monday but unfortunately it will be not what you want. Shops will be able to open with an eye on staggering people going in to them. Construction will start with safety precautions such as masks etc having to be worn maybe even full masks

Pubs and clubs I am afraid will be months down the line. We are not the same as Italy in our pub culture if we were I be fully up in a month or so in them opening up but unfortunately I do not see people going to a pub and sitting down and not moving around, does not happen here unless its an "old man pub"

It 100% makes sense to look at what other countries are doing and follow suit if their decisions worked for them. We were able to see the affects of an extreme lockdown in China hence why so many countries are doing it now.

I was in a business park today which has all types of businesses, and all were open, builders working there as well. They may not necessarily have let any Joe Soap walk into their premises, and I'm sure they were all taking the necessary hygiene precautions, but they were all working. People won't be held to ransom, they will get on with things and return to work.

The only question is whether it is a "necessary evil".

Restrictions won't work on their own. We need progress on testing and contact tracing . PR promises talking about " ramping up " are not a substitution for action . We are still hearing about people waiting weeks for results by which time contact chasing is a waste of time .

If so I want them to know this is no good for me.
I would like to be able to go back to the office once or twice a week where it is totally possible for me to maintain social distancing.

I have spent the last 3 years building up a business which is on the verge of dying if lockdown goes on much longer.
If we can even be seen to be reopening a little it will give customers confidence that Ireland might go back to some time in the not too distant future.

Even being able to report to clients that I am writing from the office would give a great boost.

My understanding is that the above document is fake. Worth noting also that members of the government have said a couple of times that any easing of restrictions would take place at 2-3 week intervals, as has been planned in other countries.

A month is a very long time in between any lifting of restrictions

it's less risky just to wait and see - the Irish are not innovators in this regard and mostly copy stuff or take it from the EU. I'll not be surprised if the actual restrictions update are very similar to what is on that page.

Holohan for one has basically being saying "don't change anything" for the last 2 weeks

holding 1 referendum with no risk does not negate this point.

- 5km or 2km limit makes no sense - it's either 2km or nothing

- 1 month for review way too long

- childcare for essential workers like supermarkets? How would that work

If that was true Irish public will not accept it.

The Gardai are starting an operation tomorrow at 7am which they say will be even bigger than the Easter one. They will be targeting tourist areas & smaller roads to prevent people avoiding the checkpoints. Meanwhile feel free to carry on with your street party, soccer game, traveller wedding, or driving down from the North.
