if there is no community contact the virus can't spread, whatever length of time it takes to run its course - 3 weeks/1 month - after that there is no more spreading in the community. We are still getting high daily updates, so obviously a lot of people haven't been compliant

Visited several shops recently and kept going when I saw the queue outside others.

All had 2m spacing outside and a person controlling access. Lidl included.

Main roads quiet and no sign if anybody ignoring restrictions.

People don't need to shop everyday for few items, they can do a bigger shopping every 9-10 days, keep the distance in the queue is also a very easy task even for teenagers/young. Not sure why these things are so difficult in Ireland

Does anyone know yet if they will extend the 2km’s for people? There is a wood near me which I used to go up to on a regular basis & it’s depressing to say the least that I can’t go up there for a walk anymore...

well, according to most we are allowed to walk in groups, go shopping for just a few cans, disregard social distancing when in the queue, get the bus to go to the office even if we can still work from home and so on. This is not a real lock down, I'm sure you know what other EU countries had to go through

Correct. In a town in the north-west for example, a non essential shop is open, its facebook page is advertising away with their phone number and people enter if they knock on the door.

That's what I used to think, but it's not true. They want people to get it. Just slower to ease the strain on the hospitals. Most people will eventually get it and like me and my oh have no jobs either......

No. It's clearly the HSE f*ck up in the nursing homes causing the problems. nothing to do with restrictions or lack of.
