What's the craic (pun intended) with anal sex?

Morning folks,

As this is AH, I'm expecting a plethora of vulgar answers but I'm genuinely wondering, what's the story with men and anal sex? Every guy I've been with over the last few years has asked for it. I can't think of a single guy who hasn't asked me if I'm up for it. Nothing at all wrong with that, I have done it in the right circumstances when the mood has taken over but I definitely don't enjoy it. I'm just wondering why men like it so much. I think the.. for want of a better word, normal way, is much nicer. Is it because its a bit taboo (or is it even?), is it because it shows the girl has a dirty side? Also.. And this hugely worries me, are you put off by a girl who does it? Do you judge her in some maybe even subconscious way?

That's a lot of boards these days. You tell a story, someone shouts out you about what your life is like then proceeds to tell you their issues, you correct them because you're the one actually living your life so you know, they tell you you're wrong, rinse repeat. Of course, start slow, plenty lube, and foreplay is important.

Thank you i gCorcaigh, finally a decent response and not an accusation that this guy is a creep or I'm making it up (why would I?!). My concerns around it were mild, I wanted to do it but there was some intrepidation which I think is natural. As it turns out, it was nice... not amazing or something I'd particularly want to do again but a nice night all round.
