They were aimed at women because they are statistically less risky to insure. It is similar as health insurances avoiding paying for hip replacement to avoid older people. It's nothing to do with 'girl power' It's simply trying to avoid riskier customers. I think laws around car insurances were actually changed on EU level not to penalise young male drivers in comparison to young female drivers.

Edit: it seems that the rule changes actually affected men negatively because other factors are now taken into account.

Because of the lack of logical thinking? You can have only women voting but if candidates are predominantly men, more men will get through.

Anyway no need to get excited about quotas, often they are needed at beginning but then things even out by themselves. Once you offer female candidates they will be voted in in larger numbers as last election demonstrated.

Now tho, saying that. I believe 99% of men and women living in the real world don't take this gender wars **** seriously or in fact whatever odd "cause" is the current in thing

As I have pointed out before it's the likes of social media that cause this stuff. You get every oddball from here to kingdom come who most people would never encounter in real life.

However online the likes of Twitter is the annual oddball AGM so the amount of noise made gets picked up on and the mainstream media make out its representative of whichever gender. Despite the fact I'd wager they represent a tiny percentage of their gender/nation whatever the topic flavour is

The problem is too business and various government groups etc end up listening and giving in to what ever whim often too, not always mind you, but it happens.

I think a lot of the problem is the ages of a lot of the political and business establishments say the real large corporations. Take a look at the dail or Westminster for example how many over 40 or 50 compared to under? Do they understand said groups are vocal minority's or do they mistake it as the majority opinion of a voter base?

Isn't that essentially segregating the vote, the people running for it and also the voters attitudes

I mean can it be labelled as even remotely similar to the golf club? They can't become "members" but yet they don't seem to be refused any part of the services there such as playing the course or service in the bar etc

A more appropriate example would be if women were not allowed inside the gates and be refused to be allowed use the course etc
