Dan got a pass because he was a much loved legend from Pride and Bisping was (at that point) mostly disliked. That's the only reason imo.
If Dan had of said he got caught up moment, or that he threw the second shot on instinct, or even if he said he was just making sure. I'd have given him a pass too.
But the fact is he said he knew he was out, and threw it on purposes. Intentions matter imo.
I'm not saying he's the worst human ever, I'm just pointing out that he got away with stuff others wouldn't.

Like the way he also gets a pass for steroids/TRT. He admits being on the sauce since from Pride all the way to his fight with Shogun. So he was "assisted" for Rampage, Silva, Bisping, Fedor etc. All his big UFCfights.

I think hitting an unconscious opponent when you know they are out is the scummiest thing you can do in MMA, and is worse than holding a sub after a tap. Joints/bones will heal, head trauma is a different kettle of fish.

I say that as someone who somewhat likes Hendo, but there is no defense for what he did.

When will people understand the belts themselves now mean very little in the broader scheme of things? The same people calling him to be stripped will be saying that Khabib/Ferguson and Aldo/Holloway are carrying fake belts.

Strip McGregor all you want, it matters little. He won't lose any sleep. As the man himself says, he holds "the McGregor belt" which is more important than any leather / nickel / gold paint at this stage.

Conor won in December fair enough! But this Mac v May fight isn't going to happen for a while and then he will want time off before he defends (if he defends). I would understand Conor not having fought yet but if he isn't booking a fight then he should be stripped.

A champ not defending because of injury is one thing but taking time off for pregancies and fighting in a different sport.... should be stripped.

Whether it was legal or not is irrelevant. He knew the man was out cold and pile-drived an elbow on to him. It remains one of the scummiest things ever seen in the Octagon.
