He appeals to young (people not even born when he started in Today FM!) and old. That's some going. The Mario / gift grub thing is a total dead horse and the show is chocker block full of Renault ads... but Ian himself, when he gets a moment to speak between the ads and Mario, always seems like a decent guy to me. I've never got the impression he's not interested in his listeners, quite the opposite. Be careful what you wish for. Ferg D'Arcy probably has his eyes on that slot. Then you'll really have something to complain about.

Reducing Gift Grub to 3, well written and well produced sketches a week instead of the current 2 segments a day that are dedicated to it, and a producer needs to call him out on the humming over the end of songs. Those two moves alone would make me listen again full time.

I'd nearly even say 4pm-12am because I'm listening to Hector, who I find annoying but actually enjoying the show. I like Ed Smith and Songs in the key of life (Nadine O'Regan.) Kelly-Anne Byrne is on another level to anyone else in the station when it comes to music and I really like her show too.

The reason I ask is because I notice that the text number is nearly read in each link anymore and it's getting a bit annoying.
