That's my concern as well, the Atlantic will wake up eventually and once it does it usually takes months before it settles again

But yeah, glorious day in Dublin again today, starting to cloud over now but it felt like early summer sheltered from the breeze at lunch time, really noticeable how much stronger the sun is even compared to a 2-3 weeks ago

Stunning day in Dublin with wall to wall sunshine. So glad I worked from home to get multiple walks in!

Feeling very much like lockdown Spring 2020

Beautiful day here in Meath, blue skies all day and warm. Best March since 2020 and this March is more 'summer' than what we had for the entirety of the pathetic summer of 2024. This March is also the first month to 'deliver' since 2023. 2024 was a very poor year for a weather enthusiast.

Best March since 2022 for me and it won't beat that one, for one single reason.

This March has had 110 hrs of sun at Dublin Apt to yesterday the 23rd. For comparison, March 2022 ended with a record smashing 203 hrs, way above any prior March (old record was 172 hrs in 2003). The highest March total at any station in the country since 1955 too.

The lowest recorded sun total in March 2022 was 172 hrs. The sunniest station in the country in July 2024 was Casement with just 151.5 hrs. Average rather than exceptionally cloudy but goes to show just how sunny March 2022 was.

And March 2022 would be followed by the best August since 1995 (or 2003) with an overall great Irish summer too for many of us despite the mediocre start in June.

It doesn't need to beat that though. It's been great. I've really enjoyed March 2025. The lack of rain very appreciative too which this one is better over 2022 when the second week was quite wet.

A cracker of a day. Cloud bank has just rolled in, and even a sprinkle of a shower.

Another great day in Kerry getting up to around 13C or so after an overnight low of about 1C with a touch of frost, very pleasant in the sunshine, about 10C atm and clouded over.

Cloudy start to the day here in Dublin but hopefully that will break as the day goes on. AS others have said a really great March so far and a big improvement on February. Hopefully this run continues for the next little while.

hopefully this run continues into the first half of Autumn! There is nothing I want more than a warm, dry and sunny summer after last summer. Last summer wasn't a very wet summer but there was drizzle and mist almost everyday throughout the 3 months.

Finally got my grass cut for the first time since end of August. My mower had a dead battery and needed to be replaced and finally got it replaced yesterday. It was a tough cut as the grass was so long as it generally grew in stages over the mild winter particularly in December and some of February. A lovely day today, warmish and some sun.

This time 2 years ago we were experiencing the wettest March in 83 years. Some comparison to this year. Last year was pretty horrendous too.

Swings and roundabouts. Start of April looks dry as well. That month took will likely be warmer than average but that's not news nowadays. Last Summer though the months were cooler than average.

Very weird Winter in Sligo. Barely a flake of snow but more frost than we normally get but average rainfall. The snow events either missed us just or coastal winds turned it to rain and sleet.

Spring so far very dry. 54mm of rain so far. Could be a dry sector now till June before the highs go to Europe. But that's only basing things on other years like this one.

One thing about this year though is temperatures seem slightly higher overall so this may favour less Summer cold than 2024.

I have picture on my phone of floods in fields on April 10th last year wind howling and cold

You're a bit unlucky with that rainfall amount. A lot of stations showing much less. For example, Athenry and Dublin have less than 8mm rainfall this month which is incredible as we near the end of March.

This is the kind of weather I expect in March. Breezy, chilly and nasty showers. We have been blessed with the high pressure and dry/sunny conditions for most of the month.
