Not sure if it's been mentioned here before but has anyone tried the Takomo clubs, seem to be getting great reviews online
Ugh 11 weeks would be a killer, can't find much info online with more recent reports of lead times, when I ordered 4 weeks ago, it said 4-8 weeks. I've gone for some small customisations based on their own fitting tool on their website so definitely going to be slower than just buying off the rack.
Glad to hear you like them though, now that you've had them a while, any issue with quality? Wearing about the same as other irons you've owned?
How do you find the Tour Lite shaft? Without being able to test them I just went with regular Tour Shaft as opposed to the Lite version, I was afraid they'd be too light
Well I'm far from expert but the irons when cleaned up appear brand new, very little scuffing or wearing apart from of course bang on the sweet spot which I hit time after time after time 😎
I'm mid 50's so swing isn't getting any quicker hence I went with the lighter shafts, compared to previous Irons they feel very smooth and controllable to swing but I'm honestly not qualified to really comment.
I do think delivery will be longer rather than shorter for you as IIRC their 4-8 week estimate is to when they actually box them up and ship them, then there's the shipping which isn't express and took a week or 10 days in my case.
Frustrating for you but once you have them the frustration will quickly dissapate.
hey Big Easy
Have the clubs arrived? I was considering the exact same set up, interested to hear your thoughts,
cheers
Hey was otherwise absorbed there at the weekend!
Clubs arrived as expected, about 5 weeks after ordering. They look great, but unfortunately I tore my quad just a few days after getting them.
The little I have played with them, they have proved much easier to hit than I was expecting, the 4 iron is easier hit than the one in my previous set imo.
The quality and look is great, the only thing I don't live is that the top line is a little chunkier than I'd like. They are not at all intimidatimg to look down on.
I'd certainly recommend them so far, but need to get back on the course properly to give you some meaningful feedback.
Just an update on timelines for anyone looking to make a customised order, I was quoted 4-8 weeks when I ordered my 101s and they were shipped bang on the end of the 8th week, took 5 days then to them carried over from Hong Kong.
Happy with the workmanship, look clean, proper KBS shafts and Lamkin grips. Strong smell of glue off the grips out of the box and plastic, but that passed after a few hours out of the packaging.
Haven't had them on the course yet, only on the range, but happy with the look and feel and initial performance.
