On Conan's podcast he has got a good few just normal Irish people on too and chatted to them for twenty minutes or so. They have been pretty good.

Thought Ken was on flying from on today’s pod. His predictions are shockingly bad but he’s definitely the most entertaining football journalist out there
On yesterday's podcast he described Newcastle as being constipated for part of last season when they went on a bad run of form and couldn't score, but he said it so passively.
Like he wasn't trying to be funny, which made it even funnier

Michael Parkinson has died. His quote that they often play, taken from an interview with Second Captains back in 2014, is a favourite of mine. Parkinson said that sport “is not war, or death, or famine – it’s not that at all. It’s the opposite of that. It’s to persuade us of a life outside of that… that’s why sport’s important.”

Was it last year or 2021 the lads were in Berlin? I remember the winner at a live event in a pub over there was one about Jürgen Klopp and Union Berlin. Thought it was brilliant. I went back loads of times to that pod to listen to it again!
Rohan Connolly is a great guest for Australian sport. Great speaker could listen to him all day.

Couldn't agree more. I was listening to it last night and was thinking I must email them to congratulate them on picking him as a regular contributor. Having lived in Australia for a while, I can say that journalists like him are by no means widespread. There is an awful lot of terrible ones over there and it's great they ended up getting him on as a contributor for Australian sport.
It sounded a bit like Italia 90, with everyone at the Aussie Rules game turning their back to it during the shoot out, and the semi final yesterday had 11 million watching it.
He's right about 'woke' as well, sick of gobsh1te's shouting it at every turn too.
I had a listen to the interview with Parkinson from 2014 that they put out again today. I can remember listening to it in 2014 as well.

Assault is wrong. But suggesting that what Shane Horgan did is comparable to what Mason Greenwood did is disgusting.

there was a possible point they missed when they discussed Brian Kerr’s comments given Kerr did coaching in Pakistan which is a country with a fairly bad record of gender and sexual discrimination but overall I don’t think it was that strong a case of hypocrisy
They both bought their way out of trouble.
