Would have loved any colour Tesla tbh
This is a fun one
The blue is my favourite. I have the black, and I do love that, but overall, I think the blue looks the best. It changes depending on the light. Looks darker and subtle when it's later in the afternoon into evening, and then sparkles in the sun. Definitely the most interesting paint offering alongside MSM.
When I bought the 3 I struggled with the colour choice between Blue and MSM, delighted with the MSM as it looks great every day. Last Sunday was crossing the M50 with the missus ‘‘twas a typical Irish overcast day and we were discussing the couloir for the MY I ordered as I would love a proper blue then we came across a MSM and a blue Y together and there was no compromise the MSM still looked well the blue was lifeless (still looks stunning when sparkly clean and sunny), decision made changed order back to MSM. Even the vomit inducing Gemini Aeros didn’t look too bad.
Have a blue Model 3 and have ordered a Blue Model Y
Checked out all the colours in Sandyford before ordering the 3 and thought blue was the nicest.
Think the white suits the 3 much more than the Y. If I was getting a 3 I'd probably have saved a few quid and gone for white.
Has anyone any idea on many model Ys there will be on the road come March? Will they be everywhere like the Hyundai Tucson currently is and the Qashqai used to be?
Not as many but they will feel like they are everywhere because people will notice a Tesla on the road.
It’s like saying I seen 4 teslas on my commute today, they’re everywhere, but I also seen 23 bmw 3 series.
Hard to predict, but some people say the Tesla Model Y might be the best selling car in the world next year.
A UK friend thinks it will be a *lit car, an expression I must admit I had to look up.
New to the forum, so this might have been discussed, but has anyone noticed that the prices for a new base Model 3 or Model Y are now the same? €52,990.
Eh....yes. We talked about it many times, have a look at the last few pages of this thread alone ;-)
I skimmed back a page, I should have skimmed more! Thanks
Yes. Dropped on the 14th October. Hence so many orders for the MY that week.
Welcome.
MY is a bargain at the moment. Still......I will keep my 3. I'm no plate snob, but I like how 222 reads every time I look, out at the car (often 😊).
Some updates on the RWD range.
203km used 51% on a new MIC owner in Australia. Weather is warm currently but that means a possible good weather range of 398km.
Some posters saying they achieve 400km at 110kph highway driving.
That’s funny I had to run an errand early yesterday morning and brought the rats with me they counted 23 M3s on the round trip one with a Christmas tree lashed to the naked roof 😭 either they are everywhere or Tesla drivers are the get up and go early on a Saturday type of person 😂
I think because we’re looking for them we see them.
I see 4 alone on the school run in D11. 1 MY, 2 M3 and 1 MS.
I got asked yesterday what i done for a living as i pulled in to get my burgers 🤣 Just told them i play minecraft online 🤣🤣
Who would have thought that lower prices would lead to higher demand; not great for those who have been paying the higher prices recently
Trentham VIC is 700m asl which in the MY translates to about a 3kWh gain or 10% range increase for the above example.
Please explain.
Looks like an American piece you’re quoting here in Ireland.
Nobody, not one single person in Ireland has paid the higher price from the MY RWD.
@Killer K replied to wrong message 🤦
The Model 3 is the 3rd best selling car in the world this year, and Model Y around 6th best I think so won't be much different than the 3 is at the moment in terms of numbers on the road here .
Think the Model 3 was the best selling saloon in Ireland this year (yes not the most popular form anymore), but still think it sold more than any of BMW 3/4/5 and Audi A4/6/7
Production of the Model Y is ramping up rapidly and with the price of the Model Y now the same as the price of the Model 3 here in Ireland, for a better car, also bigger, more practical and with better spec and a far more popular form factor, sales will be big.
Those are incredible figures, especially when you consider the price of the cars and the space they compete in as you highlighted with the BMW and Audi saloons.
Given how much other manufacturers bring out new marks or more accurately how long Tesla stick with their mark and have a very small model line up, the Model Y could almost end up like the original VW Beetle in terms of popularity and longevity.
I’ve always said it, Tesla are never going to have multiple choices, the S, X, 3 and Y will be forever and only added by the Roadster, Semi and Cyber. If/when they come up with a “2” smaller than the 3, a hatch and 50kWh battery then they are done (apart from a van which Elon says will never happen but only a matter of time)
Model 2 and 4 and the U boat
2,S3XY,4,U
Clearly iv3 got 2 much time on my hands 🤣
🤣🤣
Don't expect those price points to last - at least any longer than the grant does. It's a nuance for the irish market only and not reflective of elsewhere.
If there have been a lot of orders for the Y since then, shouldn't the estimated delivery date for more recent orders have changed to later in the year? Unless that delivery date isn't connected to production capacity/demand. Or Tesla have ringfenced 10,000 MY RWDs for Ireland next spring 🙂.
Ramped up production.
The RHD MY is feeding Ireland and Australia currently.
And remember, a lot of orders is relative. There will not be 1000’s like there are 320d’s but there will be hundreds.
Quicksilver does look good 😎
I see Tesla this week have dropped $3750 off in the US prices for any deliveries in December. If sales stop accelerating at the level they want here I imagine they could cut pricing further
