Vu+ Duo2, Amazon echo and Logitech harmony hub?

Been using a Vu+ Duo2 receiver for our satellite/saorview channels for a couple of years. A few months back we got an Amazon echo for the kitchen and then later we added an Amazon echo dot to our sitting room. Ive been looking into controlling the Vu+ satellite receiver using voice commands to the Amazon echo. Since we can watch the Vu+ in the sitting room and the kitchen; I thought it would be a great idea, we could change channels from the kitchen using voice commands instead of using the powermid remote system thats a bit iffy at times. One option that Ive found is to buy a Logitech harmony hub and put it in front of the Vu+ receiver. Theres an Amazon echo skill for this, so in theory; if Im out in the kitchen watching the Vu+, I can use voice commands to the Amazon echo that will instruct the harmony hub to carry out various remote control functions to control the vu+. I havent bought the harmony hub yet, but Id be interested if anyone here has tried a similar setup and was it a success?

    Thanks

I'm doing exactly what you want with similar hardware with Google home and home assistant integration

I was looking at the pack that has the hub and companion remote. Does the remote wirelessly connect to the hub? E.g. If I have the hub in front of my satellite receiver in the sitting room; can I use the companion remote in the kitchen to change the receivers channels? (without using my powermid ir remote transmitter/receiver system)

    Thanks

It's wireless, you can use the remote in another room or even hide your devices in a cabinet

Very good. If I get the pack with the remote, Ill have a plan b to fall back on if the voice commands dont work. I can just use the logitech remote in the kitchen with the hub in the sitting room.

    Thanks for the info. :)
