Brilliant win. We did what we can't seem to do at senior - winning high ball. Winning dirty ball. Hounding the man in possession. Delighted.

Haven't been able to do that at senior for year to be fair!

That made the win all the sweeter.

The Cork players laughing in his face was the right way to respond to the Tipp Village Idiot.

Exactly right. I was dreading that the Cork player was going to swing his hurley to hit him as when you are hyped up and wanting to defend others, its easy to lash out and then it would all be about how Cork got nasty. Thankfully he didn't and laughing at him was the best thing to do!

Who do we play in the final? I am so buzzing I can't remember the other semi final!!!

It's a pity they did not show the incident at the end again.

I presume a Cork player did something kr posdibly said something but the reaction from the Tipp fella was the definition of bang out of order.

Dublin or Kilkenny. Due to play the 3rd of Jan if it goes ahead

Great to come out on top in such a close game where it was win or bust, should stand to them. That selector for Tipp will be mortified watching that back and rightly so, not a good look bowling over a teenager like that.

    Galway not Kilkenny

I am fairly sure that was the Tipp manager

It was the Tipp sub keeper, same age as the players, not an adult, who ran on at end

I dont think so, he was wearing an NFL hat and some club top? Could be wrong though, I thought he looked a bit older too

That kind of game is one that we have been losing a lot recently. Putting so much effort into it and coming out a few points behind or getting reeled in, in the last few mins.

Its great to win a game like that.

Moycarkey. I know the family it’s definitely him. The wife has cousins in two mile Borris and he’s a neighbor

I thought we were going to throw it away there again at the end. If there had been a minute or two extra played we could have too I'd say.

Yes!!! Great stuff. Delighted for all.

Disgraceful from the Tipp manager there

    What he do?

  • Registered Users Posts: 517 ✭✭✭benji79

Cork players showed good cop on not to react after final whistle. Hit out and a melee could start. Then that’s all that’s talked about and takes away from win. Probably suspensions called for and players miss an all Ireland final
Madness from the Tipp lad , you can’t do it no matter what.

Ah fair enough, not great still but at least it was just players involved.

    What he do?

He ran onto to field and started pushing and shouldering a few of the Cork players. Totally stupid reaction. The Cork players laughed in his face.

Anyone have a video of the incident?

Happy and safe Christmas to all. A few ups and downs but a great way to finish the year last night.

Ronan McCarthy is staying on as Cork Senior Football manager. Cian O’Neill and Sean Hayes are staying on too and John Hayes and Bobbie Dwyer are being brought in as selectors.

Well that's a right disaster. FFS.

Late notice but I have just seen that there will be a programme on RTE 1 at 7.30pm tonight on Corks famous double in 1990.

    Its called Laochcra Cois Laoi

The caption under the photo on RTE's story on this states Ronan McCarthy celebrates Corks defeat.

    Irony....

    Thoroughly enjoyable.
I was lucky enough to attend all those games and the feeling at the final whistle was just simply elation that will never be equalled again.

Yes that double in 1990 is my favourite sporting memory growing up. I still get the same buzz back when I see it or read about it like I did at the time.

When they swapped cups at the homecoming it brought me to tears and still does when I see a clip of it!!

I watched it and enjoyed it but it made me kind of depressed when you realise we have only won four senior All-Ireland's in the 30 years since then.
