I didn't get a chance to do LCVP and get all the info on all this so i'm a bit lost. My plan is to do a FETAC course, a one year which awards this,
"FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Media Production (EMPXX)"

My overall plan is to go to a level 8 course in IADT, which states this,
"Applicants with FETAC Awards require distinctions in 3 of 8 modules
FETAC Links for this programme are:

    EMMPX: Multimedia Production
    EMPXX: Media Production
    EPATD: Theatre Production
    ETFPX: TV and Film Production"

The course I will be doing for a year opens me to this,
"Graduates are eligible to apply to progress to Higher Education Courses through the Higher Education Links Scheme and through the Pilot Scheme. Graduates with a merit profile may apply for entry to BTEC Higher National Diploma Courses"

What I don't know is, By doing this course from a year then going on with it, Will I end up having to do two other courses aswell to have the 3 mentioned? Or do they all fall together somehow... Cause if thats the cause I'll ahve to spend 3 years till I can get into the 4 year course, So I'm not sure if thats right at all

You will only need one fetac award to get a place in the college. A module is each subject that you will be studying on your course. When they say "FETAC Links for this programme are:" those are the fetac courses that they will accept for entry into the college. "Applicants with FETAC Awards require distinctions in 3 of 8 modules" that means that you will need to get a distinction in 3 of 8 "subjects" that you will be studying on your course. A distinction is a grade of 80% or better.

In fact that 'three distinctions' is a real minimum, you need to be working towards as many as possible (people can and do get distinctions in all modules).

As the previous poster said, modules are 'subjects' that make up the certificate. So the certificate is Media Production EMPXX, the modules will be something like Design, Video Production, Work Experience, and five others (they can vary a bit).

IADT will accept any of the four certificates they list to get into the course you want to do, but you have to get a minimum of 3 distinctions in whichever certificate you do.
