carer's allowance wait time?
endofrainbow
tried posting to another thread but it has been closed - does anyone have an update as to the current wait time for carer's allowance?
I'm onto week 25 since my application went in> anyone know what month they are currently working on?

hi all thank you for your support, at least we are not on our own with our replys to each other, i have been told it could be an oral hearing or just a look again at my files, i dont know if i should get more medical letters or just leave it to them now, good luck to everyone for this week coming.

Great news Oliwe, I like tipplady waited 36 weeks to be told that I didn't qualify on medical grounds, asked for a review in July 2012, haven't heard anything since, I have phoned a few times and have always been told the review is with the medical officer - dreading Christmas
tipplady

Hi i have been waiting 80 weeks this week. I am trying to claim for 2 young adults in my care and was granted it for one of them and on the 2nd of august i was told yes for one of them and when i appealed again for the second person they sent my file back to the appeals office so i haven't received any payments yet its going to be a long wait for you if you are refused. It is sole destroying when you work so hard minding someone you love or more than one. Best of luck
LauraAaron

LauraAaron

Busybee4

smurphysutton
God hopefully you will all hear something real soon, the last few weeks have been a pain trying to scrimp to pay the bills and get the christmas presents, I just hope I do hear something in the early new year, I cant really wait much longer, as bills adding up.
tipplady
hi all still postman watching, mine is still waiting appeal, told it could be weeks or months, dont know what is going on, told diffrent things all the time, just keep hopeing, christmas is hard this year for all of us waiting.
LauraAaron
awwwww my hrc form is still with the woman who deals with the claims so this is what is holding mine up (why am i not surprised always happens to me) could be another few weeks yet before shes done with it
Busybee4
Awwww no Laura, what is a hrc form? Only sent my bank and credit union forms last week didn't know I had to only found out last week when I rang
LauraAaron
its a habitual residence order to make sure ur allowed to live in the country but I'm from the north and moved down last April because my husband was offered a job but i cant see why it would take so long for a decision as he works here i claim cb for all my children here and i had to fill out one to live here in the first place. Also Ava who im claiming for was born here and receives all her care here too.I just hope and pray for some strange reason its not turned down and il have the long drawn out process of appealing
fingers xd
LauraAaron
I'm actually from Derry which is the common wealth travel area so I just can't see what the problem is?
Busybee4
Well I'm still waiting too and don't need the hrc form but we really must be next!! My daughter's name is the same as your daughter!!

Hi all I got a letter today from the Department with regard to my carers application, looking for more information about where I live as I don't live with the person I'm caring for and a letter from my employer stating how many hours I work, does that mean they are finally looking at my application, or its they have just noticed these things missing...
endofrainbow
nobody knows how the department works but I would imagine it has been passed to a Deciding Officer and these queries have come to light...
Did you not provide the information in your initial application?
Busybee4
Travel pass arrived today! Think that's a good sign!
So Annoyed
Yes busybee, you have got the carers, congrats!!!
