paypal refund - aaah!

I was paid a sum of money for an item that I couldnt sell and when I went to do a refund it couldnt as I had bought something else using the money. Paypal wont do a refund straight from my credit card so I did a bank transfer to my paypal account on the 31st of january and it hasnt arrived yet. I re-confirmed all detials with my bank this morning and they are all correct.

There seemed to be another option of adding a bank account directly to my paypal account which I have now done but I'm still not able to add funds to the account to make the refund from. I think I will have to bite the bullet and make the refund at the loss of the paypal fees although it annoys me to do so. Any help please?

That's for withdrawing money from your account, not for funding it. Unless you get the cash in, there is no way for you to issue the refund.
