what a complete and utter rip off, a money racket.

im hearing the new battlefield has all this for free, they would want to include all this elite stat tracking on the actual console otherwise it wont be worth paying for imagine having to go on your computer/laptop to check these elite stats how awkward and stupid is that.

the fact that im reading now that you dont actually own the map packs is laughable if thats true its a disgrace, it would want to be a once of payment theres no way im paying another monthly bill just to play mw3 i think most people have enough bills.

Fcuk me my hand is stuck on my face because of the epic facepalm you gave me. Everything shown about Elite so far is free, this has been said around 5 or 6 times in this thread alone

I had to retype this reply to you. I could not post it as it would have been an insult to people who are special.

If you want to be an adult gifted with common sense, look at information that is credible regarding the service. If in doubt ask a question. This is a discussion forum and the posting of your opinion based on lies despite it already been pointed out to you........ *cut*

Ever since they introduced paid map packs it has been a rip off

It amazes me that people still buy shovelware from activision while other developers make games that offer true value for money (valve are a good example)

You can only play portal 2 so much... as much as i love valve.. they don't exactly support their console releases, pretty sure TF2 is almost the same build as it was on release for console, while its been updated hundreds of times for PC.

I agree that map packs are too expensive but really... the amount of playtime someone that actually likes the games gets out of it is certainly value/£. What amazes me is that people who apparently hate CoD and don't buy it.... still find the time to browse the CoD forums just to slate it.

I apologise for over reacting, but to discredit something that you do not seem to understand is ignorance. It really does get to me.

Ya can't just skim a thread and jump in where ever you want.... Otherwise you end up here. No point throwing a post up on something you know nothing about

EDIT: It appears I forgot to add

Yeah, when people come in shouting "this is a rip off" for something that they are too lazy to read up on, it's pathetic... Just read the facts before you go shouting about what you think you're talking about

This is a thread on a forum devoted to COD and specifically about this topic, so it's hardly being stupidly pedantic ;-)

The whole way the elite service has been announced and updated has been farcical at best which has probably led to so much disinformation about the project and people moaning and bitching here and elsewhere on the internet.

They initially said it was going to a be a paid service and loads of (xbox) people were up in arms. Then they said it was available to all for free but that some features would be only available to those who pay. If they can't even get their press releases succinct enough to exactly what their product does or doesn't bodes poorly.

Then they announce a date for a beta, which causes the servers to crash and people still haven't gotten entry in to it. From watching the one of swords video it looks mightily unimpressive. Anyone who's used Bungie.net or Bfbcs.com will say that it's all been done and they never made a big song and dance about it.

There is fcuk all to be gleaned from viewing heatmaps, gun stats, etc. in hindsight as often you're not going to be give enough information to learn from your past experience instead it serves as a record of your past. I died alot here but I killed a lot here or I didn't die here or I didn't kill here will probably be the sum total of what you'll learn. Most of the players who I play with regularly will know what areas are best to attack from and what areas are best to defend from.

I know some people were complaining/liking about how they would need to use their laptop/pc/phone to view their stats and that's down to an individuals circumstances. I very much doubt that all stats will be only available through this and not via in-game as was before.

Personally unless I get access to significantly more save slots like Bungie pro did or theatre mode has the 30 second limit greatly expanded to something approaching 5 or 10 minutes, I'm unlikely to be tempted.

Nah, zero disinformation. It was all announced up front and eejits blew it out of context and made assumptions as soon as they saw the word 'pay.' I bothered to read what was what happening in the first place, so I knew what was going on. Nothing stopping anyone else doing that. People were too busy being keyboards commandos over not understanding the concept of freemium business models.

Not everyone is getting into the beta. They're saving most of the spots for people who actively contribute on IW forums. I assigned up for an invite, but since I don't even have an account on the IW forums, very slim chance of getting in.

If you have a problem with a post you report the post , you dont respond in the manner that you did , hence why i told you no more insults .
I did send Coravan a pm and he apologized on the forum.
I dont see an apology from you to those you insulted.

They set the date for when the beta invites would go out and they missed it. Either they were unprepared for the demand or it was badly organised and couldn't meet it. That's without the servers going down straight away for the signup. By all accounts Elite's initial press release was not clear or concise. One of Swords had to link a detailed press release a week after first reports of Elite's announcement.

The whole way it was announced was a farce and nothing they have done since has changed my opinion of it since. People are rightly going to question what a paid for service entails regardless of what machine they play on. Previous iterations of games in the series have been free and to me it smacks of just money grabbing by Activision/Blizzard.

Whether Beachhead studios can deliver the same level of support for Elite as in similar services such as WoW remains to be seen. Gauging solely on how slow IW are to remedy problems in MW2 and how poorly Treyarch are at thoroughness of their regular updates of Black Ops I hold little hope of this service.

I dont see an apology from you to those you insulted.

maybe you should of sent me a pm aswell dont you think maybe then i might have apologized? i think thats a perfect example of double standards you pubically critize me but you send another poster a pm...

im sorry for the name calling but it was no where near as malicious as that comment by coravan, he mocks me subliminally by comparing me to a person with a disability now that is over stepping the line, so iv to report a post instead of you actually picking up on what was said he is not just mocking me but he's also mocking those with disabiltys...

very bad modding to say the least.

Ok so lets get this straight .
1: you make a comment on this thread , which shows you know nothing about what your talking about .
2:a few users make a few remarks .
3: your response was far more vulgar .
4: your pee'd off because i called you out and sent the other a pm(which there was a reason for)

Have i got that right ?
One of the things in the forum charter is Dont be a dick , which tbh is what your acting like now. If you have any further issues pm me , if your not happy after that take it up with the cmods.
